Fantastic travel documentary, very impressed with Japan rail system, you have very organised system, here in nz we have similar geography but have neglected our rail system from the early 60s, we love to to travel by train to all of favorite tourist locations, love your country, please be positive in these tough times, blessing to you all from nz
i have heard there is tagging in tokyo, but this only is from social media, i have been observing rail youtube for some time, there is very small amount of tagging in other city areas , love your docos, please keep up with your good work, love from john

Nice train. Is that sound a "Cummins QSK19" diesel engine? These trains sound very similar to the UK Class 185 trains and the Class 222 train.

The engine of this train is Komatsu SA6D125H-1A type.
Second half of the segment between Tottori and Kurayoshi, the driver was absolutely bombing along - did he get a bit impatient at the passing loop waiting for the commuter train to pass through?

There was no particular delay at this time, so I think it was driving as usual. Even if there is a delay, the policy has been changed to shorten the stop time at the station instead of forcibly increasing the speed, giving top priority to safety. This is because in the past, delays were the responsibility of drivers and penalties were established, and this caused the worst accident in Japanese railway history.

it's weird how the train looks slower then its actual speed

It's due to the focal length (zoom) of the camera. The distance from Nishi Akashi to Okubo station is approx 2.61km and took 1 minute 25 seconds... which works out to be 110 km/h... so the speed indicator is showing correct))

When you aren't supposed to finger others' selfishly from time of the infancy in Japan, it's educated. I think the fine isn't so high, but when you claim damages from an owner, it probably becomes expensive.

@@ys-train i think there is some lost in translation, i agree that there is much lost on stmyrespect, in nz it appears to be classed as civil legal rather than criminal law with regard to tagging of property, this has created many issues within our legal system

Follow the instructions for the signal on the left side of the track, so the signal on the right will be the signal on the right.
