@JMPurcell
@JMPurcell 6 жыл бұрын
As much as I appreciate Stryper, a number of very good to great albums have been produced by 80s-era bands this millennium: Megadeth (certainly 2016 Dystopia, numerous others (like Karl M) would include 2009 Endgame or 2004 The System Has Failed), Queensrÿche (2013 eponymous, 2015 Condition Human), Anthrax (2011 Worship Music, many say 2016 For all Kings), Metallica (2016 Hardwired . . . to Self-Destruct, some would say 2008 Death Magnetic), and for a purely personal pick, even Dokken (2008 Lightning Strikes Again). Countless rabid fans swear Iron Maiden has released five projects ranging from good to great since 2000, though I do not concur. I'm sure there are more than a few others as I'm a music snob so I think most artists need to find another line of work. ; - )

This is my NEW favorite Stryper song. I'm going through a difficult time right now and whenever I'm feeling worried, lonley or afraid, I listen to this if I'm able or sing the chorus out loud. It motivates me, empowers me, and reminds me that God is always with me. Musically, one of your heaviest songs with a Black Sabbath vibe. The guitar solos are right up there with some of your best work. Oz Fox you completely blew me away with your pick and finger work on this one. Great job!

Uhhh ok.. STRYPER... you guys are really not messing around! This songs, the sound, the commitment to actually taking the battle against evil to the very gates of hell.. yeah this is some serious stuff! It seems to me that STRYPER is rediscovering the essence of who they are.. but in a whole new way, and yet, still producing some top notch industry worthy songs, regardless if they get the credit they deserve or not, it's as if it doesn't even phase them. If that's not total dedication to a talent you've been given and to an art form.. then I really don't know what is. Michael your vocals are fantastic and what I like the most of all about what I'm hearing from you is that you are NOT trying to be the Michael of the 80's... (thank God actually, always bothered me that the ballads people always thought a chic was singing lol) instead you are quite obviously taking advantage of your current deeper pitch, and stretching your "originality" in vocal style FAR beyond what you've ever done before. Michael the truth is, with what you're doing now, you don't need to hit any 3rd octave whistle register notes in order to lay down the law with complete vocal prowess. I encourage you, OZ, and Robert to keep pushing the limits of what STRYPER can and is accomplishing. What you guys are doing now... is taking STRYPER from being a memory... to being a rock legacy! You guys are turning heads in the entire music industry!

Here are the lyrics: "The Valley" I've spent my life trying to be A solar light In the darkest sea Wearing my shield For the final fight I won't back down I won't bend a knee (Chorus) Yea though I walk through The Valley of the shadow Of Death I fear no evil, no evil I look back Upon my life and know I've gone far But have a long way to go I've done things That only others dream A miracle Or so at least it seems (Chorus) Yea though I walk through The Valley of the shadow Of Death I fear no evil, no evil

Keep killing it guys! As someone who discovered you guys when I was a militant atheist a**hole, thank you for holding to your convictions and helping me get past the idiotic prejudice I had against Christians for some few years after I graduated high school. Music binds us all, and the heavy metal community is the most tight nit. I'm still not super religious, but you guys helped me see the beauty in having faith in a higher power, and seeing past the thin stereotypes we seem to put people in (Christians are receiving this more these days, because it's in style to crap on them). I finally got into Stryper a while back thanks to good 'ol Razorfist (Metal Mythos) and Michael has become one of my personal heroes ever since. Keep making the amazing metal, and keep holding to your beliefs my friends.

Can you explain to be why Stryper gained so much controversality in christian circles and still does? I knew lot of people in Europe in the 90's different christian circles protestant but also Pentacostal and other christians were it was okay to listen Stryper. Other popular bands were Tourniquet, Bloodgood, WhiteCross and Savior Machine. No one told us they are evil and you should not listen them..

Mohel BabyBlood Noncechild the triangle symbolises the Trinity. As for the church thing.. while it is important to find a church that has a solid teaching, we gotta understand no church will ever satisfy our standards. The church is made up of sinners like everyone else so we should expect people inside the church to fail now and then. It's better to be in a community than living the faith alone.

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior listening to the wrong music is never even a commandment whatsoever! I mean music is created by God, so why is it an issue? Without Black Sabbath, Dio and Judas Priest, Stryper will not even be serving the Lord right now. You see what I mean? God can use whatever and whoever He wants to reach out to more people. Indirectly heavy metal is His creation! I agree with your definition of true faith. One of the aspects of faith is to turn away from your sin. I just don't agree with your blanket statement that listening to secular music is particularly a sin in itself. If you feel repulsed by it, good for you. I don't feel repulsed by any song I listen to. I get inspired by it, I admire the talents that God has put in bands like Stryper or even Slayer. That's it.

Mohel, first of all..thank you for taking the time to address me in a mature manner regarding the pyramid in Stryper's logo. I have come across this concern from people many times over the years, and you are the first one I have ever seen admit concern about it, but not condemn Stryper's faith for it. So thank you for that. As far as the aforementioned pyramid, Michael and the band have indeed addressed this many times, the 3 point pyramid, or Triangle, for them represents the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is true that other religions, or cults have used pyramids to promote evil purposes, but you can do that with a lot of things. You can make a piece of string represent good or evil, if you want. A perfect example? Just a few weeks ago, someone put out a video bashing the video for "Sorry". One of the things they tried to do? Accuse the band of using the electrical cord in the middle of the dessert that was used to power the amps so they could hear the song while recording the video (cause ya know, that might be necessary) to represent male genitalia. Seriously? That is one of THE most ridiculous things I have ever heard in my life. They're in the middle of the freaking dessert! They probably had a truck there in which the cord was running out of, and guess what? There was nowhere to hide it..so they didn't! Getting off track here, but you see my point. Anyway, with respect to you, I do believer that you are over thinking it a bit. And for your Pastor not to be able to answer that, is a serious issue. He should know, like Stryper does, what it means. Bottom line, is symbolism is just that..symbolism. And I think people have a tendency of interpreting things that may not have any double meaning their own way. I am saved Christian who has never seen the triangle in Stryper's logo as anything more than a triangle. And in all honesty, I never even gave it much thought other than I just saw it as part of their logo, until the last few years where I have seen people concerned over it. And Stryper was obviously privy to this concern as well. So for them to acknowledge that, and to let it be known that for them it represents the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Well knowing and believing them to be, in your own words, "genuine" and "sincere Christians", that's good enough for me. So try not to get to caught up in earthly symbolism and things that in all honesty, God probably doesn't care about. He just cares about you, and your heart for him. Hope this all makes sense. God bless you and your loved ones also, my friend.

Another fantastic song from Stryper. Long may it last, shouldn´t be surprised anymore after 30 odd years listening to them, but compared to most of the bands coming from same era, Stryper is in unbelievable form !

Love this song! They are more amazing than ever. Been listening to them since the Yellow and Black Attack and have seen them multiple times. I'm more impressed with who they are as people. They are very humble and genuine. They amaze me with their ability to put up with so much BS over the years, and not end up being A-Holes. God is evident in their lives.

I've been reflecting on the longevity of rock bands, such as the Rolling Stones, U2, and Styx, even the Eagles, and along with these Legacy bands is Stryper. You guys are phenomenal for as long as you have endured, even with the changes you've recently made. And remember, as I've said in Wendover, Nevada, "Old guys ROCK!!!"

Stephens Dygert there's nothing wrong with being proud of something u may of accomplished...just don't go around with a big head and bragging.....in other words be humble. Everybody in the world feels pride when they do something they may of thought they couldn't....pride is an emotion that u can not just not feel...its not a decision u make....it's natural....it's what one does with that pride I believe is what God is saying. A person with no pride isn't gonna get anywhere in life...it's a necessity...the boasting about it is not a very good quality in anybody...we've all dealt with someone who only talks about themselves....as an example
@IamRaloPib

Stephens Dygert yeah..cause Joel Osteen not raking in the dough using God's name right? U know what maybe because I am human...so ur telling me if u graduated from college with a 4.0 gpa that u wouldn't feel a level of satisfaction from that? Cause that right there is called pride...u don't have to go shouting it out to everybody for it to be considered pride...don't ever tell me I have satanic thinking...having a child causes most every single parent to have a level of pride in their newborn baby but I imagine u could control that thinking...honestly u don't know what in the world ur talking about...I'm talking reality...Ill believe what I believe and u go keep lecturing ppl on they're satanic...ur pride in thinking u know anything about anything is why u keep trying to tell ppl they shouldn't have pride in anything...ur pride has gone out of control and ur oblivious to it....go rethink ur Bible verses and I'll do me...id hate to be ur kids...God forbid u never tell ur children ur proud of them as far as I'm concerned...I don't care what ur translation is...u are not a good person...if ur telling u have never felt a sense of pride in life then u must be a damn computer. Also...if u were to get a 4.0 gpa that would be something YOU accomplished, not something God created. U have a twisted way of spinning what the Bible is saying...ppl like are dangerous ppl that scare ppl from having a relationship with a higher power in any way shape or form...because ur have a blasphemous way of interpreting what God is saying. Ur obviously very proud of ur Bible thumping...otherwise u wouldn't be on here trying to tell us what u think is truth when u are so wrong.....please don't reply to me...we can just agree to disagree because neither of us are gonna back down and this will go on forever...I know ur gonna want to get the last word in and I the same...goodbye
@IamRaloPib
@IamRaloPib 6 жыл бұрын
Stephens Dygert being humble doesn't mean a person is not proud of anything...it means they keep it to themselves and treat others with respect...ur interpretation of the Bible is so distorted...stop preaching falsehoods. If ur saying God created the things one might be proud of then ur saying he is also the reason for anybody sinning.

Kudos to the Sound Engineer in this album, the drums sound amazing, and the sound in general is the best I have heard of the recent #Stryper albums, I hope they keep the same sound and perfect it even more. Great video by the way. The song #Lost sounds great as well, in general the 4 songs they have presented are top notch metal.
