Hello Frosties! I have a big MoTS key for you today. My personal best overall dps with full single target raid gear! I included a lot of frost commentary throughout. Nice video :) I have learned 1 thing here, and it is kinda stupid from me. Using the nova middle of your icyveins and orb lol. I used to do this in legion, but somehow I stopped doing that and never thinked about a simple thing like this. But your tank is 1 of the main reasons why your dps is so high he keeps the adds perfectly in your blizzard and I would sell 1 of my kidneys for a tank like that :P Keep up with this video's, because personally I think you are way to underrated to the work you deliver. But I hope you realise that people like me are looking up to you.

The nova trick is baller. Also keeps tanks from pulling mobs purposely (pug tanks) out of your orb/blizzard. After a couple of pulls they get the message

I’ve not touched GF so far in season 2, I have been running FW in everything. When GF is uncapped in aoe in 9.1.5 I think you’d play it in big aoe dungeons/weeks

I just picked up Frost been tanking all of 9.0, 9.1 and 9.1.5 but, got some people in the guild I wanted to help out and fill spots and Frost looked really fun. I'm only 219 but thanks to your videos was doing 5.3k overall which doesn't sound like a lot but, I think for that iLVL it's a good start, I did not know about that nova trick, the cool down of Icy veins with that is mental! I will have to keep doing that! Thanks for all the cool tips I will keep at it. One question when I have a free ice lance proc and a free flurry proc, is there one I should be pressing first? I guess ice lance to not cap on procs? Running Freezing Winds at the moment

Thanks for the commentary. I realised I always try to hold cooldowns for the next pack or a specific phase in a boss, and usually poorly judge the time to reach there and end up holding for too long and using cooldowns too little throughout the whole run. Will try to use everything on cooldown and have better uptime (I'm especially bad with RoP), and hopefully better numbers! Thanks Small question though, do you think nightfae works for pure M+ content? (I dont raid), and when do you think is the optimal time to use shifting power, i usually do it when frozen orb is on cd and directly after a blizzard cast, as it will get blizzard back up instantly

Night fae is pretty good in aoe! You’ll just miss out on the single target that venthyr gives you, if you don’t raid it shouldn’t impact you as much 🥰

Hey, really great video! I've got two questions that I'd like to ask: 1. It seems that, as you described, in 9.1 it's better to stack mirrors of torment with frozen orb on packs than using orb first, wait for the orb to finish, then using mirrors. However, inevitably, there will be times where procs will be either munched, or wasted through overcapping. In AOE packs (~5 targets), is it more important to prioritize not overcapping the fingers of frost procs or the brain freeze procs? 2. The frost nova tech that you described in 8:18 is really interesting, I never knew of that before. However, it definitely feels inconsistent, since damage from all sources breaks the nova (probably with some internal time delay), so if frost nova effect disappears before a tick of the frozen orb, then you essentially wasted one GCD with no gain. Then, wouldn't the optimal timing to use frost nova would be when you have no fingers of frost procs during frozen orb? As an example, see the pack starting at 8:09: here, you used frost nova at 8:13. However, wouldn't it be better instead to use it at 8:16, where there is no fingers of frost procs for your current GCD, and you can cast a frost nova instead of a filler frostbolt? Another example wouid be the very next pack at 8:57: this time, you used frost nova right after frozen orb (with icy veins). Specifically, that frozen orb gave you 2 fingers of frost procs, and it seemed that a fingers of frost proc almost got wasted (in 9:03, you can see that the upcoming of fingers of frost proc from frozen orb came up almost immediately after you used ice lance). My reasoning for delaying frost nova is this: for the majority of frozen orbs, since your GCD is around 50% lower than the 2s interval between the granted fingers of frost procs, there will usually be at least one instance where you'd have no fingers of frost procs on your current GCD, and you would either wait (downtime) for your next ice lance, or you'd "fill" with frostbolt as you have done in this video, even when accounting for having to blizzard during that frozen orb. So my question is, wouldn't it be better to use frost nova as the replacement for the frostbolt filler rather than on pull/earlier on in the frozen orb? Thanks for the really insightful commentary, hoping to see more in the near future!

nice vid, like your voice and gameplay but i have 1 question, in 1 video you said first cast frostbolt, then flurry with brain freeze, but here you press flurry always when you get brain freeze, without frostbolt, can you please explain why? is it better now just spam flurry always when i get brain freeze, or is it still better first cast frostbolt and then flurry w brain freeze? thanks :)

Hello! Thank you for the feedback! So the goal is to not miss out on a new proc by being capped. So if you have mirrors of torment on a mob, you may not have time to cast the frostbolt before the flurry before the ability gives you a new BF proc. It’s more of a dps loss to miss out on a brand new proc! So basically you can frostbolt before the flurry if you have time and are not going to miss out on any new procs by being capped. This goes for FoF procs as well. It’s always a bigger dps loss to miss out on new procs rather than optimising the ones you have. It’s not always possible to optimise them especially with the freezing winds legendary, you will be overloaded with procs! Hope this helps 🥰

I seem to have an issue bizarrely with aoe and would like to ask a few questions! 1. You cast blizzard when of cd at cost of losing a proc or wait? 2. Do I need to stand in melee range to get max effect of frozen orb? 3. With freezing winds am I basically machine gunning my fof procs into adds while using blizz on cd? 4. I know this sounds simple but I am very casual....with targeting on aoe are you basically targeting the one in the middle of a pack for max aoe?

No other stats like haste are also pretty good! You can sim individual stats by using the custom apl! Found in the alter time mage discord or pinned in my own discord mage channel

Very interesting take. I notice a big difference in that you use mirrors of torment on cd, even during the initial IV + FO opener. I tend to delay my MoT until the FO has expired and use it with my hard casted Rune of Power. Does using MoT at the start with the frozen orb actually work better (my thoughts are that a lot of the brain freeze procs are wasted - or FoF Procs if you use the brain freeze).

if your icy veins are up, and you're about to fight a st mob. Do you use icy veins? even though you will fight a bigger pack afterwards, and it'lll make your icyveins 1 min+ cd if you use it on the st mob

One more thing I think people need to also factor in to their damage profile for a key run is what key level you are doing. If you are doing a 10-14 or even lower then the sustained damage that Frost gives you will not work out as cleanly as you see a lot of the time in her run which is a 19 simply because shit dies quickly and you have to run to new packs a lot. Being familiar with a key in terms of the ins and outs of the path taken, in combination with your group set up, as well as the key level to determine what the big pull parts are and how long trash/mini bosses/bosses die makes a noticeable difference in your overall performance.

Nope! The only thing that has changed is moving your freezing winds legendary from the head slot to hands- because of domination sockets 🥰

Sim yourself. Stats don’t matter. The sims show you your best dos output from your available gear regardless of the ilevel or stats

When used correctly you dont spawn a chain, then more damage can go into the other chains. However it’s pretty minor as the chains break quickly anyway. Mostly it’s efficiency! If you want to use blink that’s also fine

I would say that the frost rotation can be easier to pick up than fire or arcane. However frost can be a little tricky in the raid because it’s punished more by bad movement than fire

Freezing winds is aoe/cleave. Not single target. Glacial Fragments is just meme aoe damage. Freezing winds is definitely the play for serious keys. You get more damage control and better boss damage. Fragments is okay but honestly it’s usually just meme pad damage

@@canadense111 DD is good for IV cdr, it has little to do with AOE or ST for frost. Running FW is not single target, and I would argue that legendary choice is the only thing making your build aoe or st. Full ST would be running Slick Ice.

@@bukk42083 The title is single target freezing winds and not just “single target” 🥰 I had my single target raid freezing winds gear setup with dauntless duellist over aoe unrelenting cold conduit 🥰 The goal here is to show people freezing winds also does aoe as well as being more single target focused, and show you do not need GF for aoe. As I see this questioned a lot in general 🥰
