And those hitboxes do half damage and can fail to connect properly, especially the last hit of Up Air when Greninja has rage. Greninja's counter is also debatably the worst in the game due to being the only one that is sometimes unsafe on success. And this was done on purpose so his counter wouldn't kill people super early by countering a jab, especially taking in mind that Substitute has some I frames that can save Greninja from some grab attempts. And having a devastating spike to punish recovery moves is counterbalanced by Greninja himself never surviving the spike attempt if he is anywhere below the stage. Then they added Witch Time that has the same perks and none of the weaknesses of Substitute. So cheap.
