Malaysia is such a fantastic country to be “stuck” in. The people are so friendly and the food so good. There’s a reason why so many Aussies get their elective surgery done in Malaysia it’s because the quality of care & service is so much better. We’re still lockdown here in Victoria and things aren’t likely to change here anytime soon. Think your Plan B is B for Best. Thanks for the most recent update. Love your work. ❤️

Hi Guys - I have been subscribed to your channel from when you left Australia and really enjoy your videos. I am an engineer and my son was born in a small town called Miri in the West Coast of Borneo 34 years ago. Him and his wife are now due to have a child of their own in Perth WA. Our circumstances were similar to yourselves, but not as complicated.!!!!!! With some trepidation and financial costs based on the timing that my wife had to fly back to Australia, we decided to have him in Malaysia. Even then, the medical facilities in this small town were tremendous and the care was also ongoing. Bit of a problem with immigration when we left (he was about three months old) as he did not have an entry permit in his passport, which we received form the Australian Consulate post his birth. It got resolved at the airport (sanity eventually prevailed) and everything ended up extremely well. This is just a quick message to to say that I think you made the right decision based on the issues that are happening around the world at the moment and I wish you and Marli everything that you wish for your selves, All will be good and congratulations as well? Cheers Guy

Great decision for a couple yowies. Sorry you had to anguish over all the various paths, but staying there makes good sense. You two are now tied for our Favorite Sailing Couple...tied with Sailing Uma. You two turners are real. Real in the way you approach life. Some of the other KZbin sailing couples are so wealthy that it’s hard to relate to them, some are such novices that their show is a comedy and some are over the top trying to be cool. You two are like the brothers and sisters we wished we had. You guys don’t try to be more than you are...so keep it up. Enjoy this prebaby time because things are about to change. Tell me about how you plan to make Nandji baby-safe...if you ever need a crew...

Thx for the update. I lived in Singapore for 5 years. We had our Aussie dog with us and it cost us more than a first class air ticket to get her back to Sydney (and that wasn't including all the vet fees and vaccinations etc). I could have saved you guys a lot of stress and heartache. Sometimes it is better to do regular "live" updates so we could all chip in help you solve problems before they arise. The healthcare in Malaysia & Singapore is on par with Oz, but it is sad that you guys couldn't get back home. But I think with hindsight, you'll both realise that you are making the right choice...imagine sailing home and something goes wrong or the baby comes early...would have been traumatic to be on the high seas a long way from medical help. At least you kid will have an awesome story to tell when they are older about where they were born!!! Good luck with everything. Australia is with you guys.

I just happened to stumble on an episode from the zoo in Sydney, which was getting a shipment of capybarras from S. America through New Zealand. The crates used to enclose the animals were enornous, and everything the crates touched had to be decontaminated since the animals had peed. Once in Australia, they were transported, still caged, to a quarantine facility and released there without any human contact. After seeing this, your decision about Marley is spot on.
@FrothLyfeSailingNandji4 жыл бұрын
We know of a dog that was exported to Australia. It had all the blood work done correctly and once there they realised that the dog had tick fever and they put it down. Another couple exported their cat from the Philippines and it had to spend 6 months in quarantine at $2500 a fortnight. They are serious about quarantine. If we were returning from the Pacific islands it would be a lot easier but SE Asia is really difficult.

@@FrothLyfeSailingNandji There are a couple other YT'ers I follow who are in either Fiji or Tonga, and who aren't having much luck getting to enter either New Zealand or Australia. Of course, none of them are Australian so that makes a difference.

It’s absolutely criminal what we are doing to our citizens under the guise of Covid-19 this year. Not just your situation but things like not allowing visits to family members in palliative care or delaying critical hospital procedures in order to keep beds open just in case they might be needed for a Covid patient. History will not look kindly on the authorities who have forced these draconian measures upon us. I’m glad you’ve found good health care and that you will be able to keep your immediate family together.
