I personally don't see the centre dot disappearing as that big of a problem. I honestly didn't even notice it disappeared when you shot the gun before you actually mentioned it, and even after you did I didn't have any problem seeing/guessing where the centre dot was simply through remembering it or using the 3 crosshairs to guesstimate where the centre point was.

I felt the same way. Once you start shooting you can see where the bullets are hitting. I don't need a "dot" to be able to see the spot my shots are going to lol.

It's just a personal preference. Different people are used to different ways of using what information is on screen to aim. Some just like a dot, some are comfortable with just aiming the cone of fire of a crosshair, and some are just really used to where the center of their screen is.

I don't notice it with the car, but the R97 has a very large hip fire reticle and a large spray, so I do notice that I'm having difficulties tracking targets.

+Buddy Luck I have lots of guides on my channel. The technique is called bunny hopping or slide hopping. Search for those keywords along with my name and you'll find lots of info on how to get started.

Sometimes its just mandatory to know where to aim without any help. In some cases having the center dot can actually hurt you as you sit there look for the dot, when you can just know, where to aim. Good examples of this is ordnance where you get little indication of where its gonna land even when using ordnance expert. However like ordnance once you nail the aim you can do some amazing things with it.

My friend watched one of your videos where you explained the dry erase dot, and now he has a piece of tape with a dot drawn on it that he attaches to the center of his screen when he plays Titanfall. You're a bad influence Frothy :D

Tbf I don't think removing the center dot while firing is such big of a problem you can still track where your rounds go and adjust accordingly or keep track of the 3 outer dots and keep your target in the center relative to those, this feels more like a way to increase skill gap and make ppl actually think when they shoot instead of following a dot like a mindless zombie but that's just my 2 cents otherwise great video! :P

Frothy we need a guide on the SMR. It is a severely overlooked weapon with an amazing range of versatility for all game modes, with it being a 3 shot kill on pilots or the ungodly damage it does to Titans. If you are good at going fast, this gun becomes your best friend. It is the only weapon I have Regened because once a Titan drops other weapons seem to completely lose purpose since the flow of the game is so drastically different going from Pilot Hunting to traditional run and gun with giant robots who will OHKO you if seen. If you get the drop on someone, they lose. If you get in close range with someone without an EVA or Mozambique, they lose. If you see a Scorch and are somewhere like on a building where it's difficult for him to land shots, he can kiss 2 bars goodbye. The splash is small but still good enough that close misses can still kill, a single headshot (honestly more common than you think) will flat out kill a Pilot, the hipfire is great, ADS makes it a laser beam made of missiles, there's no reason not to use it. The only complain people seem to have is "Oh I can't see because of the smoke trails" which if that's the case means you are standing completely still on the ground and are screaming "Oh FAST-senpai please teleport inside me and shoot your hot Phase Shift Assassinate all over uterus uguu

I also run R-97 religiously, and I temporary solution I found to have that dot in the middle is to throw a flaming star at a target and for 5-10 seconds it brings that hit marker in the middle while you shoot the gun or not. just thought I should pass that on.

Just watched your tier list video and I agree for most part with what you stated, with one exception. I think that the SMR could be moved up if used with a different play style. Using it as almost a shotgun smg hybrid. It will never be overpowered but if used well can be reasonably competitive. In pilots vs. pilots I find it easy to carry lobbies with stim. Also a great fun trick you should try is throwing one of the throwing star ordinances on a friend and have them run into a room on fire or with a giant suction and see if you can have some fun! I love the videos and they have greatly improved my skill as a player, keep up the good work!

The R97 was king of close quarters in TF1. I loved it so much. Sad that the Alternator and CAR have made it feel less relevant, but pleased that the gun isn't altogether worthless.

OMG that A-waller on the roof that you cooked with smoke.....PRICELESS!!!!! The electric smoke ordinance is so underused, even though it HARD counters the A-wall. Speaking of, they should make the A-wall a baby version of tone' s wall....... right now the fact that you can withstand ridiculous amounts of damage simply because the A-wall is still active is OP. How to solve problem: make it so you can power through the A-wall or completely destroy it in one go with certain ordinance/attacks.

I could see this gun gaining a lot of popularity if the rodeo system was the same as in Titanfall 1. Maybe if they release a pilot kit that allows you to stay rodeo'd to an enemy titan, this gun would have an entirely different use as an antititan weapon. awesome guide. love this gun. i've been using the dry erase marker trick for a bit and it makes all the difference for this gun. on console i trust the hipfire at a range much more than ADS and just run iron sights. maybe i just suck at aiming it though.

I would say just keep using it, at first your aim will bad but after a while, you will get a feeling for it and pretty much the dot is not necessary.

anyone else struggle with the CAR due to it not having ENOUGH recoil? I only play R-201 because its relatively high recoil is something that I'm used to, too low and I'll fire a laser beam in one direction when I need to move it around to actually hit my target, might pick up R-97

Chairforce 1 that is exactly correct. stim increases all pilot functions even pulling batteries out of titans.

That is exactly incorrect. Stim makes you run faster, that's it. You do NOT reload faster, please do not spread misinformation. Don't guess. Reloads are bugged and if you jump off of a wall at a particular moment in a reload animation, you reload more quickly.

R3hab Official The devotion is broken as hell, it can three shot body shot people from anywhere, and you can just charge it up and mow people down one after another. It's much more easy to do well with the devotion than the R97. You can use it, but some people in the community may give you hate. The R97 takes more skill to use effectively, but can be quite good as frothy demonstrated. Hope this helps! Gen 8.

they nerfed the hemlock and sentries so now how do you feel about them? I like the R97 alot, there's nothing more fun than flying into the enemy base at light speed with my bullet hose. I used to like the devotion alot until I found out its broken, but the versatility of tap-firing at range and letting it wind up before you turned a corner was cool. I'm a Gen 10 with every gun and titan at least Gen 2. My R97 is Gen 3.16 and my Devotion is 4.1 and has been since I stopped using it 3 months ago (I just felt like an ass, especially when my shots rubbanded players running behind cover on a consistent basis). Respawn please make the Devotion a 4 shot and slow it's wind up time. And bring my Volt back, she's still my favorite but a 7 shot kill with the slowest smg in the game is hard to work with, she's Gen 6.17

I really hate the dot disappearing act. Using the CAR and others I have to ADS which I find reasonably hard now, because I've played waaaay too much EVA-8. Hip firing is just so... satisfying. I even use R-201 from the hip, and I'm also on console.
