Great campsites and beautiful water falls complete with gorgeous flowers - doesn’t get any better! Akela is so lucky. He has been to more waterfalls in your travels than most of us humans.

We stayed at #14 last year and hiked the panther creek trail. Trilliums were in bloom. First night some noobs were staying in 13 and didn't know park campground etiquette. Thankfully, they only stayed one night. The next night, the campground filled up, but the worst it got after dark was muffled conversations and crackling fires. Wonderful. Hope you visited Brushy mtn State pen if it was open. Definitely neat history and the Warden's Table is a pretty nice restaurant.

It's so interesting the parks you find to visit. So many I've never heard of. I once camped in N GA at the Moccasin Creek SP - met a woman who was traveling with a friend taking her 9 year old son to every SP in GA - at least that was her goal. I thought it very interesting. I really liked that park mainly because just across the road from the park (same park system) is a great path that follows a fast moving deep stream with a few small water falls and beautiful flora and fauna. It's very nice to take a dog and wasn't busy at all....in fact my sister and I were the only one's there on the path. It was in late May. Anyways, seems like you're finding plenty of places on your own. I really enjoy the new places you visit - especially the more remote NPS or NPF area's. Thanks for doing these great reviews.

I find these place when viewers like you tell me a story like that. We will put that one on our list of places to try. I unfortunately do not have the brain cells to remember who mentioned Frozen head, but after looking it up it sounded very interesting, and this is one of three, so keep following to see how interesting!!

That's quite an obscure park not familiar with it. If you're ever back in that area check out Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. I've been there but not camped but it seemed to be a very nice area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hamilton Branch State Park in Plum Branch,SC. Every site except for four was on the water and some had easy access to the water. Not far from there was Petersburg and Mistletoe SP just across the Strom Thurmond Dam into Georgia. Beautiful area if you're looking for new area to camp.

I'll be staying on Hartwell Lake in May, not sure what the name of the camp ground is, but I think that is in that general area. My problem with lakeside camping is that I would have a wet fur ball in bed with me and its not fun!! The Big South Fork is on my list. That's another few hours from where I was. But it will be visited! Thanks for the recommendations. I will add them to the list!

Do you know what the name of the yellow wildflower is? I know I've seen it in a book, but now I can't find it in my wildflower guide, it looks sort of like some sort off trillium, but arggh! No luck. Curiosity will kill this cat! You should find a nice size stick for yourself for hiking, we have several, I've lost several as well, I leave them against a tree in the woods, then forget to grab it. Lots of sticks and their free! Beautiful spot for a spring time hike.

On Slim's latest video I commented that I would still like to see you two get together for a bull session around a camp fire. You both travel solo but have different styles and outlooks. It would have been interesting imo. Maybe sometime in the future. Anyway, nice video and campground. You always get into some pretty interesting places.

That would be cool. Slim and I have discussed, but we are both fairly heavily scheduled for the current year. He's doing his travel videos and wants to get back to his cabin, and I have to cement my programs here at my current employer. But it could happen.

Hey Rick, we have an aliner as well, I was wondering to use our fridge, we just hook up our propane, and turn on the fridge, is that right? Hope you don't mind me asking. We haven't used it yet, I mean the fridge! I've read that we should hook it up to shore power and fill it up with icy packs, so it would help cool it down faster, is there another gems of knowledge you could tell me? It's a 2011. Appreciate any tidbits. Thanks 😊.
@GoingNoWhereFast
@GoingNoWhereFast 2 жыл бұрын
If it is the "Larger" 3.0cu.ft. 3 way frig. with the automatic feature, it will cool down on propane in about 8 hours (70->34) or in 12 hours on shore power (120). 12volt will lower it eventually, but probably not before the battery is dead. I always plug mine into the house the night before and it is cold by morning to fill and go. I never stuff it with anything but the food that I will carry, as removing all that extra "Cooling crap will warm it back up. Anything after 2005 is "auto-Ignition" and self lights. In fact if you cool it with house power, when you unplug it, listen for the click click click as it changes to propane (Of course propane must be turned on.) Old people tell you never run on propane while moving, because in the old days you had to manually light the pilot and it could blow out. Not an issue with the newer models. Oh, and it will run for about 2 months on a 20lb propane tank.
