Sometimes we've got to take something positive from something negative so I have made this video to help others understand what the early signs of frozen shoulder might be. What to expect and how to navigate through the horrible pain. I'm sorry for anyone going through this painful condition, it's a long unpredictable journey but staying positive is the key.

My frozen shoulder is just about 2 years old. The trouble with it is that not many people of heard of it and so don’t seek advice until too late. Mine was initially diagnosed as a torn rotator cuff and it wasn’t until after a couple of physio sessions that it was diagnosed correctly but it was too late. I’ve got better movement back not but not full as fit. I’m carrying on with the physio daily and hope that it’s back to normal within the next year.

@@leighinibiza Hi Leigh, thanks for sharing. That's exactly what happened with me, it was diagnosed as a torn rotatar cuff and so it was being treated as such, but actually it was frozen shoulder and frustratingly it was too late as I'd lost all movement. Glad you got better movement back, I hope the physio gets you back to normal soon. We definitely need to help others become aware of this common condition so that they can catch it early and manage it. I had never heard of frozen shoulder, but now I'm an expert on it with two 😋.

Laura! Great great posting, and we're glad to hear that you are "Fighting the Good Fight" as you begin to experience some progress, however slow!!! In addition to your excellent suggestions, I'd like to emphasis the importance of being aware of any and all awkward body postures which might have triggered your frozen situation. Only then can your body begin the healing process, which will probably be longer and more drawn out which you hope for, but stick with your rehab program and it should get better over time. Speaking of time, my shoulder took about a year and a half to heal up properly, and is now "mostly" pain free with an occasion twinge if I happen to sleep on it incorrectly. To combat this, I make sure I switch sides during the night so that my body isn't in one position for too long. I recommend the use of a "rope and pulley device" which simply hooks over the top of a door and then allows you to do various stretching exercises to keep your joints limber, which can definitely help to avoid future problems. Good luck everyone and thanks again, Laura, for posting this important video to help people get educated about this highly ANNOYING problem which is such a life altering physical problem ... but it CAN get better. YES, It really can. Mine did, so hang in there and keeps us updates about your progress and what your doctor has told you. 👍👍👍

Thanks very much. I think I recall you mentioning posture previously? I'm definitely more aware of this. I'm actually having bowen therapy at the moment so I think this is helping to 'realign' the body. If nothing else it's certainly helping my back! I have purchased the pulley this morning, nothing ventured nothing gained and I'm sure it will only help towards the progression of healing. Like you said it can take a long time, but I'm pleased you have healed properly from it that certainly gives me some hope. It's good to hear other people's stories, I met a guy yesterday who had frozen shoulder which was from a motorbike injury, he said it took him about 2 years to get pain free, but he didn't get the mobility back. I'm guessing everyone is different. My physiotherapist is now talking about swapping my hydrodilatation injection for my left shoulder, to my right shoulder as its still early enough to catch. Thanks again, Laura

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that. I definitely think more people need to be aware - I wish I knew what it was and maybe I could have caught it early. 🙏

Great advice Laura. I had the early signs of frozen shoulder and did what you advised in an earlier video and I think I have it under control now. I'm not fully cured but much better. Thank you so much. 😊

I have this now and can’t sleep. All after whiplash gone untreated because of insurance. So upset and painful indeed. Thank you

Too bad about your situation. I have had ms for decades and I have never had symptoms like the description or heard of anyone with ms who has but there are different types and they can affect people differently I would think. Best of luck Laura. Bye.

Morning (from Wales) I'm really happy that you haven't experienced this, it's quite unreal! I wake up most days wondering if this is really happening - but it is and I'm just trying to take one day at a time. I've joined some forums too to hear about other people's experiences with FS and how they have gone about dealing with the pain. Mostly people undergo surgery as they can't bear the pain anymore, but I really don't want surgery and would rather take the natural healing route. I'm doing my physiotherapy exercises everyday and on days where the pain is too unbearable I skip a day and start again the next day. A positive mindset to get better is key, but not always easy when you realise how long the healing process can take. Anyway I really appreciate your message of support thank you. I hope everything is good for you.

The natural route would be your first choice always I would think unless it just cannot work. There is usually hope and an answer out there somewhere. Human beings are incredible and usually find a way somehow. Somebody out there has had this and fixed it when conventional medicine didn't work or they wanted more control over the effort. You have got to make this work laura so you can get back on your virago or intruder like old days and go down that road again someday soon. Best...

@Returned2Forever you're absolutely right, our bodies are incredible! Just as this came I'm sure it's going to go. I'm on a really strict anti inflammatory process with my food so hoping this will contribute. Now, wouldn't THAT be the dream! Getting back to riding - that's the goal 🤟👊

Riding free as a bird could be the ultimate therapy to keep the ms on a short leash. You'll have this shoulder thing whipped at some point soon and then you can get back on the road with your friends. Best...

Hi, Is this linked to your MS? I hope you are doing well.
@lauraironstalksms10 күн бұрын
Hi, some of the specialists think so, some don't. There's no solid evidence to suggest that it is. But chronic shoulder pain is common with MS and other neurological conditions. There is a theory that it's caused by an autoimmune reaction. But thank you, I'm very early stages so a long way to go yet
