There were some huge ones to see, but the road was blocked due to snow / ice. If I could’ve made it to Tunnel Falls, it may have been up to 70 feet.

My first exposure to Madison was when I took my Mother on a road trip. I then took cousins, a girlfriend, a fellow photographer, and just myself to visit Clifty Falls and downtown. I keep going back!

@@AdventureswithRoger I’ve not been back since 2012. The mayor of Madison was the son of my babysitter when I was a kid Damon Welsh. He passed away shortly after and his mom died not long after that. My dad was stationed at the Jefferson Proving Grounds as a Master Sargent training men for the Vietnam War. Boy it brings back some serious memories.

I did several other videos about Madison, but never Jefferson Proving Grounds. Some people have gotten special access, and I might give it a try. Growing up, it wasn’t even on maps, supposedly a sniper training camp! There was a rumor that silver, Roman coins were found there, but I’ve never seen the proof. Lots of folklore in that entire area! I’ve heard several stories about Bigfoot sightings!

@@AdventureswithRoger they did a lot of weapons testing there. My brother and I had to stay with my dad at the base one day cuz my mom had to take my younger siblings to the doctor. Being the hell raiser I was, I was banned from there too unless I was sick. Anyway, we got bored playing on the cannon in front of his office so we decided to walk down the railroad tracks. We could hear a lot of shelling going on in the distance but that was nothing new. All of a sudden it stopped though. We just kept walking and pretty soon there’s choppers flying all over around us. We’ll, long story short, the colonel had dad whoop us with his belt in front of him on our bare butts. Never did that again. There’s lots of unexploded shells still lying around out there to this day. And if you go there to the pond and fish, sometimes you’ll hear one go off in the distance. The wildlife stepping on them will set them off. There were lots of deer there and for a while they brought in a bull and three elk cows. It was all cool until the rut then the bull started attacking cars, Jeep’s, people, anything that moved. They got tranquilized and hauled out of there in a big hurry. The buildings there are pretty spooky now and I’d even say haunted. You see really weird stuff in that area. I used to go back regularly after it was closed. I knew people who let me into the restricted areas but that was back in the 90’s. Wouldn’t surprise me if there were paranormal stuff there. The grounds are huge and very dense woodlands in most places. Have you done a video on the courthouse that has a tree growing out of it? I can’t remember which city but it shouldn’t be too hard to find. Greenburg maybe?

Hoping to wrap up southern Indiana and do more north, such at the oddities of northern Indiana (Tree in the courthouse, largest bull in history, etc).
