Thank you for a great review. I have a few SPEKTRUM AR637T receivers which have built in telemetry alti/vario as well as the AS3X gyros. Can the Horus communicate with these existing receivers ?? Many thanks

I LOVE just LOVE my Horus. I fly heli's BNF through 800 size, and a few quads. I run the FrOS and find no need for flashing to OpenTX for me personally.

Hi... just got mine... What are the compatible receivers I can bind? I look at the webpage but it is very confusing to know which one is the one that should go with this transmitter...

Very nice review. I also use the Horus, and I am very happy with it. I love the screen.

How do you get 32 channels, I've asked the frsky shops just to get shut down, asked why do I need so many. Well, three gear legs, two doors each, different times and speeds and curves ect. There is nine channels straight away!! They sell a module to expand 16 to 32. But Sbus max out on all receivers are 16 max ???? How to get the upper 16 channels on receivers. Can only flash a x8r to 8 or 16. Hiw to get 17-32??

How's the range??? I've heard numerous complaints that people were getting ALOT of failsafes, so much so that they were going back to the Taranis even though the Horus was nicer in every way, but if your link is crap I guess it doesn't matter how nice the package is. I wonder if this was just because they got early test units or what....pleaee keep us updated!!

So knowing you are a FrSky Fan I will still ask ;) How does the gimbals compare to the Spektrum ones? (Like DX8/9 and up) Thanks :)

Pretty cool but the lack of a touch screen makes me lean more to Futaba. But this looks like a high quality low cost radio.

Also available at aloft hobbies in the USA who is also a service center. For a few extra bucks worth supporting a US vendor who can help you if you have issues. They are a class A vendor

Actually iam using OpenTX 2.2 on Horus for couple weeks now and it works great, even though its just Nightly build i can program everything just as on Taranis, only disadvantage of OpenTX is that i cant play mp3's during flight. So far disadvantages of FrTX are: - extremely long voice alerts (5-6s for simple cell voltage reading) - time intervals of alerts cant be set every 1s just 5-10-15s - amber pack doesnt fit yet :)

Works Great with thumbs. I fly thumbs and it feels perfect. The gimbal spacing from the sides are the same as my spektrum transmitters. I do a lot of piros and stirring and it feels perfect.

They should just improve on a hugely successful radio X9D/plus, just add the aftermarket mods! 1) Louder speaker 2) removable antenna 3) add some 6 position switches(FC have more flight modes these days) 4) Hall gimbals. 5) keep the sides dials(don't move it to the back) (The collective users are smarter). They did copy a very successful JR 9303 to produce X9D added their own innovation in 2008, that is the right strategy. Keeps all the switches and sliders, adding more dials/slides/switch is mostly appreciated(Horus have more, I like it! For better SF programming) Improve the hardware can also help, just look at what are the popular mod and have them built-in at factory with the new models! If they want to take more risk, they may change to better interfaces like QX7 dail/buttons, or improve the case and make it more ergonomic on hands(rubberize or grip size changeable etc). That is it! To me, Horus = horrible, only Internal battery. If you want to change it in the field, must unscrew the case!(Oh man! that is a joke) Also reported many fail safe error. Also people can't use radio harness/strap on a movable cover! It make the radio unstable(Big Big risk) when you fly and must hold it with your fingers/hand, therefore you can't use your fingers on switches easily. the sliders at the back is not accessible to many people with smaller hands, why limit your buyers?

anyone flying giant scale with these radios I am scared to fly a 50cc plane with it because of everyone complaining and fail safe problems. It has no range. and I think this horus has less than a 100 mw power output not good.

put a module on it like a frsky or jr 900mhz
