In my 30s, I maxed out my 401k, paid off a house, vacationed 4 weeks a year (including Europe for a month), among other fun things (Also, saving 30% of my take-home pay.). America is quite expensive compared to the rest of the world. Experiences can include dinner with friends at home cooking some great food (Food and drink at restaurants cost 5-10X what cooking at home costs.). Lots of memories of dinners with my friends. For leftovers, It's 5 days for most things. That's food standards used in retail for prepared foods. If they are selling 4 day old food, it's perfectly safe to consume. There are a few exceptions, things with onions for example should be probably consumed within 3 days, then some salads should be dressed/mixed daily won't really keep for more than a day. Finally, some cooked meats like salmon will really start to dry up after the first day so I wouldn't keep past 2 days. Most meat is fine. When in doubt I just smell the food.

According to most kitchen staff/people working with food leftovers are usually good for 3 to 4 days. Carbs (all food for that matter) have to be properly cooled down before refrigeration, and even then I wouldn't let them go longer than 3 days without freezing. Vegetables (Salads, soups etc.) last a bit longer, something like up to 5 days. Either way always look, smell, taste and properly heat up before consumption. 3 Minutes on high in the microwave usually does the trick, if you're sceptical do more. Always, ALWAYS be sceptical of leftovers that are older than 3 days. Better that than food poisining.

Y’all got those cleaning hacks wrong. Let me fix it for you: Kitchen cleaner - 1tbsp dawn in spray bottle with water. Cleans, does not sanitize. (Others usually dont either. A cleaner is different from a sanitizer) you will need to buy a sanitizer. I usually use lysol. But this mix is gentle enough on any surface, food safe, and good for day to day use. For bathroom cleaner its the same thing except in a bottle with half and half water and distilled vinegar. For glass cleaner just half and half vinegar and water. Optionally add in a little cornstarch for some extra heavy duty cleaning. Do NOT use soap on glass… that leaves streaks. So sorry graham. You got that wrong. Add in your choice of essential oils if you want the stuff smelling nice (the vinegar smell is a bit strong). Bonus tip: do NOT DIY washing machine detergent. It will ruin your machine over time and the machine doesn’t function with sudsing soap so it will leave your clothes smelly and gunky over time. It also forces your machine to use more water in the rinse cycle. Stick with the store bought stuff because its meant for the machines. If you want to use handwashing stuff because you dont like the petroleum then hand wash. You cant hack this. You can however use distilled vinegar instead of fabric softener. This is especially good with towels because softener ruins the towels ability to absorb water.

It's funny because although I grew up in the West (Spain and then the U.K), due to the poverty I grew up around all these things that you do in this video don't seem frugal at all to me... Now I travel, I'm writing this from Macedonia where I have a $250 a month apartment including all bills and I couldn't be happier. I work about four months a year in the U.K, only doing work that includes free accommodation, save every penny I earn, and then simply live in cheaper countries to a strict budget (I live on what a local earns, so here for example about $600) and have a wonderful life. The quality of life I can have here, for less than a quarter of what it costs for a basic existence back home is incredible and I love the Balkan culture. Anyways great video, it proves to me there a re many ways of reaching some time of financial freedom and I hope more and more people start waking up to the fact that you dont have to kill yourself for a paycheck! If you are taking the risk on spending money on someone you are trying to get to know and don't know how it is going to end up, why not save a little? In my opinion it is ok to use a coupon on a first date as long as it doesn't it change it. Like buying something that you happen to have a coupon for.
@mademoisellesuraАй бұрын
Maybe this will be an unpopular opinion, but I think the man should always pay for the dates. However, I will say that I think coffee dates, and lunch dates are perfectly acceptable first and second dates. I completely understand not wanting to pay for an expensive dinner for someone you may, or may not ever see again. With regard to the coupon question, I think that’s super cheap to do on a first, or second date. However, if you are in an exclusive relationship, I don’t see a problem with using coupons, or gift cards. At that stage you’ve probably already established that person‘s levels of generosity, so a once in a while coupon is not a big deal.
@cisium1184Ай бұрын
Agreed on all points. The man paying is not about the money, it is a symbolic gesture of your willingness to provide, which you will _have_ to do if you marry and have kids. So on a first or second date, using a coupon sends a mixed message. If you can't afford the first date, a cheaper first date is better than a coupon. By the same token, if I am considering marrying a woman, then how she will handle the money I'll be expected to provide, whether she'll value the work it represents, whether she is a saver or a spender, are all things I want to know. I almost feel there could be a "coupon date" after you've been out several times.
@mademoisellesuraАй бұрын
