Same I love strawberries but end up throwing them out because they go bad too quick especially in the winter the only tend to last about 1 or 2 days at most

Thank you, I do mine like number 3, but I add baking soda with the vinegar water. They say baking soda will clean off the poison.

I use the vinegar soak to help clean them well and remove any dirt or mold spores that could make the berries go bad faster. Be sure to rinse them and let them dry before storing them.

I've heard you can leave them at room temperature for a day or two to help them ripen or change color more. But I've never tried it maybe that would work.

I don't know where you live, but it's almost impossible to find berries that fresh anymore where I live. The tip about vinegar would probably be helpful if we could find better quality berries to start with.

From the kitchen countertops, I'd guess California? My parents lived in Northern Cal and had the BEST strawberries and same countertops :-) But I could be wrong, lol.

These methods are for storing the berries in the refrigerator. I also have a tutorial for freezing strawberries too.

For the easy method, would you just store them in multiple mason jars separate like that for all of them to last a week?

Yes, just place as many as you can into each jar. Then put the rest into another jar. I hope that helps.

We haven't noticed any difference in flavor at all. Just rinse off the berries after soaking.

I think it would work well for blueberries but I think the raspberries wouldn't work well because they are more fragile. I hope that helps.

#3 layering can be used with the other 2 methods . other videos say not to seal the container lid. Yes ?

I would believe you would use the same process as with strawberries. Although with blueberries I've been able to keep them a good month if I put them in an airtight container with a paper towel. But those are home grown so it might be different with store bought.

Amber, I pull the bruised berries to eat first. Then proceed with the vinegar method. The berries keep better and longer that way. I hope that helps.

The vinegar will help to clean the berries and it can remove the spores that can spoil the berries.

I've used this method for hearty berries like strawberries and blueberries. More fragile berries like raspberries will fall apart.

I just use plain white vinegar as a soak. Or if I don't have plain white vinegar, I've used apple cider vinegar in the past too.
