However, I must say it was very nice just to have you focus on the subject matter of this video from start to finish with no diversion. So nice.

This made me wonder - I’ve never seen you make homemade Greek yogurt in the 5 or so years I’ve been following your channel! I recently started making it in the crockpot or instant pot and it’s like half price and you can choose your fat content according to preference! It’s soooo tasty, not tangy like the one from the store! There’s some budget delicious protein for ya!

Yes! I always buy extra milk when it's on sale or marked down to make Greek yogurt! Even if milk is full price, the homemade Greek yogurt is still half price from store bought! I keep yogurt ice cubes in my freezer so I always have a yogurt start ready to go.

I've been playing Tetris with my pantry and freezer for months now. Time to make space for a couple of turkeys! 🦃 Found them for only $.47/lb and at that price, might as well have one cut into quarters and Tetris it in the freezer. Cooking for 2 (or 3) here, but my daughter's house is about to get a surprise turkey drop-off too. 😂

Arborio rice works fine used as rice if needed. Do it like you would do a Rice A Roni one pan thingy. Sauté the rice, then It expands fine when you add the water and simmer covered for half hour or so. I would make a hamburger tomato mushrooms green pepper goulash-ie kind of thing and use the rice instead of macaroni sometimes. I have done the pure Arborio rice thing as intended, once, only.

Jewel (Albertsons owned) has been putting boxes of cereal on sale for $1.29-1.99 the last few weeks. Have I bought 28 boxes of cereal? Yes I have 😂. Those boxes are almost $9 when not on sale. Most of the boxes have been Cheerios, Corn Chex, and Rice Chex for me to make spicy gluten free chex mix for my husband and daughter. I'm easily going through a box of each a week just for the chex mix alone. When the prices are like that on non-perishable stuff we use a ton of, of course I'm going to keep buying when the sales and coupons are awesome.

Avocado in an egg salad situation is delicious!! I started using ripe avocado as a sub for some of the mayo in my egg salad ages ago and it's always so delicious- I like to mash it up with the egg yolks and some mayo and pickle juice, then mix in the chopped egg whites and some salt and pepper. The pickle juice keeps the avocado from oxidizing!

You and I are similar, reality check. I did this a couple months ago. I am still working on my plan. I looked in my freezers and figured I had 1 year of food to cook with added fresh options. I think you could also last 1 year with no frozen meat stocking up when cheap. If I were him, I had a ground beef, I would buy two. If I ran out of chicken legs I bought two on sale, of course. I am so happy to have an empty freezer. I think I had over stocked up on the deals. Especially now since two of my children are gone, to live their lives.

You can use arborio rice for things other than risotto. It would be excellent in rice pudding, grind it up it cream of rice hot cereal, add to soups and stews, especially if you want to thicken it. It’s rice so it’s versatile.

I make my own yogurt in the instant pot. Started a year ago with a small individual container of fage as a starter and a gallon of organic milk. All I do is just keep a little from the previous batch to “seed” the new batch. MUCH cheaper than buying individual containers at the store. It lasts a week.
@dianasimplifies3 күн бұрын
So then do you use a gal of organic milk every time? Plus your starter?
@TheRealJules3 күн бұрын
@ Yes. I use a tea cloth and a strainer to strain it afterwards so it’s more of a Greek yogurt type consistency. Yields about 1.25 qt., depending on how much liquid you squeeze out.

Omg! Love your hair😊. I actually eat avocado toast with hardboiled eggs and I eat my leftover caprese salad with toast of course for breakfast!😂 I mashed up my avocado and spread ir on toast ot baguette bread. Then I cut a hardboiled egg in slices and place it on top of avocado with salt and pepper. Another idea is take some baguette bread slice through horizontally. About 6 to 8 inches in length. Toast it. Then drizzle olive oil over the bread, place some prosciutto on top of bread and put sliced tomatoes over the top and salt it. I learned this last one from when I lived in Spain. They call it a "watanga". Doesn't sound spanish I know, but was a terrific breakfast with some Cafe con Leche. I love this channel.😊

Arborio rice makes really creamy rice pudding! And it's super easy if you use the slow cooker. So if you're looking for a non-risotto way to use up that rice, that's my recommendation.

One year, I won't say how long ago, there were no movies where I hadn't read the book first. Then I found one! I was so excited! About 5 minutes into the movie, I realized that I had read the book... The movie had a different title than the book... My family won't go to the movies with me because I spoil the movie, having read the book before the movie is made... The movies are almost never as good as the book.

There are plenty of people who do that to Star Wars. And there are people who have taken a made up language in Star Trek and have learned it. You can actually apply for a college scholarship for knowing the fictional language. People crazy-like different things. Why some things are "acceptable" like sports or dogs, and some things are not... May be more interesting to ponder than why one person loves one movie, possibly too much.

I'm actually trying to clean out my freezers and pantry. What I'm learNing about myself and our household is that, while we love tilapia, salmon, and shrimp, we are not fans of cod, as well as pork loin, sirloin steak, and turkey tenderloin. We love ribeyes, lamb chops, pork shoulder, and round roasts. Chicken has never been served as our only protein at dinnertime because my husband hates it.

Started a new job which is about 40 minutes by bus away so I started reading City of bones in September. Now I'm done with all of the Mortal Instruments, the Eldest Curse, and have a couple of chapters left of the Infernal Devices. Due to some kind of delivery mishap my favourite bookstore doesn't have part 2 of the Dark Artifices (the next series in some of the recommended reading order) so I'll have to get it somewhere else but to answer your question - YES I've read them and YES I love them. Tried to watch the Netflix series but gave up after three episodes.
