As a classically trained ballerina, I have to say that that was freaking incredible. It breaks my heart that people just don’t understand how damn hard that routine was and how much technique that routine required. I don’t understand how people can sit and judge dancing when they clearly have NO CLUE about dancing. I understand that’s the whole point of the show but I am just speechless that they let such talent walk away.

I never usually comment on any videos but as a dancer myself I am extremely disappointed that he didn’t get through. He has incredible technique, especially when executing difficult steps. It honestly upsets me that this type of dancing doesn’t excite the general public. I’ve grown up watching ballet and I get a real enjoyment out of it. I feel as though my generation cannot appreciate the complexity and difficulty of ballet, as they see it as ‘boring’. One day I hope that a tv programme, screened to a wide audience, is able to show the public and my generation ballet in a new light, so they can see the true beauty of it. Or at the very least, in these ‘competition’ shows, I hope to see a talented ballet dancer reach the final or even win. On a final note, I believe that if we don’t inspire the general public to perhaps go watch a ballet, that in the future it may become a dying art. I do not wish to see this happen. Too much hard work goes into this craft for there to be no recognition. For everyone who is a ‘non-dancer’, I hope you read this comment and just maybe begin to see the amount of talent this guy has.

I guess the parents of these generation did not have classical music or expose their children to watch ballet. I showed my kids the "Leap", " Swan Lake" & "Nutcracker" because we could not afford tickets to buy at first class theaters. My wife do stretches & showing our kids how since she had Figure Skating & basic ballet + pilates stretches before she succumbed to psoriatic arthritis. Even though we do not do ballet but still, we still need to let the world know about ballet. It's not just a dance or an art, but a historical movement to still exist.

As someone new to the ballet world I feel extremely sad for him. It's something so hard to do amd it is as mental as it is physical. I've done sports for a long time and ballet is on a level of its own. I think part of it was because he was a man dancing ballet as well. When he started dancing you could see the looks on some people's faces. An asian man dancing ballet is great in the ballet world. Would love to see more of him.

the sadder part is that this show actually had a qualified panel who were sophisticated and knowledgeable about dancing, but alas, they were given no power. This is the difference between Europe & Asia went it come to these kind of competition. For ex in China during the Singer competition they carefully select 500 people (5%) from 10 000 to be the judge on only 1 episode. The process repeat again every episode with another 10 000 people. They are doing that so they can keep only people that know different genre, style, and are not just random with their selection.

Thats the expertise of the audience, not about the technicalities of dance. Its a show for the masses, not to recognise the best dancers.

Rui Gouveia I really can’t tell if you’re kidding or not lol. Sorry if you are, but you do realize that this show is called “The Greatest Dancer,” right? So it is about finding the best dancer, with the best moves and technique but the audience doesn’t see that because all they want is a flashy performance. Classical dance is still art but some people aren’t cultured enough to see that side of dance. But what’s done is done and the audience is clearly close-minded with art.

@@carolngo8046 Carol did you read my comment properly? Because essentially you just pointed out the same as i did. Its called The Greatest Dancer but decision is left to the public with no culture and professional knowledge of dance. I just don’t understand, he might not have looked like the “ideal” dancer or whatever but that doesn’t mean anything. It doesn’t matter what you look like, or what race you are; all that MATTERS is how you DANCE. I personally have faced challenges similar to this because of my race.
