FS17 Timelapse, Dowland Farm Seasons #24: Logging!

In today's Farming Simulator 17 time lapse video, which is set on the Dowland Farm Seasons map, based in Yorkshire in England-
Lots of logging today, we need plenty of cash, and logs are valuable right now, so the obvious choice is to chop down anything that we can! We've got all the gear there for it, we just need to have enough light to see what we're doing. The snow during the second day certainly makes the driving a little more interesting, but we still get everything picked up and sold. There are still some trees left standing, but those will be dealt with next winter as we've not really got enough time left this winter to be able to process them all properly. Now we've just got to decide what to do with the money!

Autoload log trailers and that logging grab with the straps make the task much more fun!

After cutting all those trees you can transform that area into a field

that's not a good idea, because by taking down forst and transforming it to field couses global warming, plus real forest workers now, that you hav to leave some trees, or otherwise birds will never come back,and fields nedd to be all flat

Tip: crush the logs into sawdust, it l sell for more that way!!!!

i get your idea with autoload on the trailer but at least to grab the logs how they should by grabbed (sometime you grab them little wrong) and lift the fork as you get to the trailer

Logging is definetly more fun in a group though. Well technically the whole game is. (not that it isn't fun solo. My gameclock proves otherwise. But in a group you can run little Frithgars over with your combine.... Sooooo....)

No, although it would be very cool if they did, say after a set number of days, be a lot more realistic. But then, I'd also like to see trees and crops getting diseases and pest problems as an extra layer of gameplay, maybe in FS19!

please get some kind of tracked tractor. not enough people appreciate compaction as a huge issue

Here in the UK tracked tractors are quite uncommon, we tend to go for wide tyres instead. There are a number of different types, some of which are run with very low air pressure, which results in compaction that's close to a fully tracked machine. You also have the massive benefit of far less disturbance to the ground, as tracks will always damage the surface they drive over whilst turning far more than wheels will. All that said, I will try to include a tracked machine soon as it's not something we've used much, although it will likely be in the next timelapse series, not this one!

Please do not go to Sandy Bay. I've played it and the field sizes are not the same as what the say they are. For instance, field 39 is 7.3 ha and cost $591,300 but it is really only 3.4 ha. Kinda over priced! Also not all fields have missions. My vote is for the West Coast!

Sandy Bay is an awesome map even though it is kinda old. It's still one of the best maps out there in my opinion in fs15 and fs17
