I hate it when that happens to the Dump truck driver's when they are really loaded. One driver has 3 flat tires and he was like hell no Jesse's going to be pissed off. I knew that would be getting flat tires in that area hauling debris. Lucky we own a crane and I was like brb got the crane attached the cables to the back. And i raised the back of the dump truck. So the service guy's can change the flat tires. I billed the customer for $$$$$$$ and they paid.

Why would you put a steer in the drive position? It cost more and will not give you as good traction. I can see using old steers on the trailer. Personally, I would only use new virgin rubber all around.
@csgergo807 ай бұрын
In a previous video he said that steers are softer, so the new tire runs the same height as the used drive one. A new drive tire would be holding up all the weight on that axel, which would cause problems, fast. Or he would need to buy at least 2 new tires.

@@fsctrucking yeah most long haul people don't. The company I am leased to will run them on their trailers but I do not run them on my long haul tractor. The company I am leased to likes to run some or a lot of super singles. The only advantage is a little less weight otherwise big pain in the ASS if you blow one. Fortunately it has only happened twice in the 24 plus years i have been with them but did costly damage because it always usually destroys the rims and requires service trucks to come and resque us. The reason I will run recaps on my 2 local trucks is that they run a lot of gravel roads hauling grain off farms and fields and gravel is hard on the life of tires.
