Thanks so much for your hard work making all these videos. For me being a home PC pilot it's the equivalent of a type rating course on the real aircraft. No other person that posts on you tube or streams flight simulator videos has your in depth knowledge and is so amiable to ask questions too. Thanks once again

+flyboy747 uk ... that is very kind of you to say so. Thank you very much, I appreciate that very much! My videos are aimed exactly at sim enthusiasts like yourself. Alot if people are getting bored of just flying from A to B with autopilot/ILS. And the new simulators have an amazing simulated system depth. So I hear so many people complain that these sims are getting more and more expensive. However very few take the time to study and use the possibilities of these sims. And that way they miss out on alot of fun.

Blackbox, really the amount of work you put into making these videos is incredable, and the knowlege you share is like no one else on you tube, Im not taking away from all the others efforts,( great community)but these videos are real world caliber, every phase that you present to us, is very precise, there are no corners cut here, thank you so much.......because of you I have become a sim pilot, being a RWP, SEIR, I actually get sweaty palms in certain scenario's, and learn something everytime i watch, Bruno sounds like a blast .......

I love watching your videos even though I don't own the FSL, so much to learn and so many insights one wouldn't normally get! As to why the Blue HYD Elec Pump switch is guarded there seem to be a couple of reasons. Firstly it does not have a backup system so operating the switch and switching Blue HYD SYS off should be a positive action and you have to really think about it when removing the guard. Secondly it is placed directly above the FUEL XFEED and could be operated by accident when trying to switch XFEED on/off. Thirdly it says ELEC Pump and could potentially (even though it is unlikely) be confused with the YELLOW ELEC Pump. These are the best explanations I could come up with while looking it up since we can't ask the engineers who build it - or at least I can't. Big post about a very little switch guard! Keep up the really nice work and see you in your next stream! Beste Grüße!
@Blackbox7118 жыл бұрын
+KevinKittner .. I Kevin. Thank you for your great input! These explanations make alot of sense as to why that switch is guarded. And also true, only the engineers of airbus will probably be able to completely explain the reason for this. Thank you again, especially for your feedback. See you in the next stream, BB

Hello BlackBox, I founded your channel via Twitch and I have to say that you're learning so much thing about the airbus to me ! I just wanted to say thanks about that :) - About the takeoff, why did you turn off the L Packs when Thrust climb is set please ? - May you do a basic video about the NADP's with Airbus and which select ( NADP 1 or 2 ) on takeoff please ? Thank you very much ! I'm being a professionnal about airbus now ! :) Regards,

Very nice video, it shows how well you master the 320! Concerning the G+B hyd failure, although spoilers 2 and 4 are available, in the FSLabs 319/320 when you turn there is no spoiler deflection indication on the flight controls page and, if you look at the wing, the spoilers do not move. Do you think that's an issue to be fixed by FSLabs?

Another reason for turning off the PTU is because if hydraulic fluid is transferring from Y to G the fluid from yellow will leak
@Blackbox7113 жыл бұрын
Hi. No, there is no physical connection between the yellow and green fluid at the PTU. The reason is that an overheat from one of those can lead to a heat transfer through the PTU and also lead to an overheat on the other system.

Hi Blackbox711, thanks so much for your videos! I love the Airbus A320-X and P3D. As I have seen in your PC-Specs, you are using a Geforce GTX 1080. I know, this is not a specific A320-X question, but can you please tell me, what monitor do you use for your PC-system/videos(?) - because they look good without graphic-issues . Is it a better idea to use 2K resolution-monitor, or no probs with a 4K-monitor. Thanks in advance!
@Blackbox7118 жыл бұрын
Hi. I use a 1920x1080 Monitor. I have never had a 4K Monitor, so I cannot give you any advise on that. I use texture settings 2048, for the FSLabs, as well as scenery addons. Regards

Hey blackbox love your vids just a quick question how is fs labs a320x for failures and how buggy is it? Can you do v1 cuts and what not and how does it compare to Aerosoft. I currently use Aerosoft to practice for recurrent sims and it does not work with eng. failures or anything non normal for that matter....was wondering if I should buy fs labs? Any help would be much appreciated.
@Blackbox7117 жыл бұрын
+ed Dewes ... the FSLabs does have a lot of Failure options. Engines, Flaps, Hydraulics, Electric and more. You can set a speed, altitude or time to activate the failure. So personally I think FSLabs A320 is good enough to practice for recurrence sim missions. The only problem I see is the FWC Standard, which could be different in some cases. Regards

Blackbox711 thanks for the quick reply and the info! Yeah guess that they cant replicate everything in a home sim...plus every FFS tends to have its own quirks anyway haha. Great too see you follow standard procedures (and you do it well) and have amazing tutorials for all the everyone happy flying!

Hey Blackbox, I have just a little question for clarification: The Status-Page told not to use the speedbrakes. On approach you armed the spoilers: Does this mean that groundspoilers and speedbreaks are not the same thing in any ECAM messages? PS: Thank you for your great videos!!!
@Blackbox7118 жыл бұрын
+Beni8794 Yes, there is a difference between usage of flightspoolers (aerodynamic braking in the air) and ground spoilers. The reason why you should not use spoilers in this case is because you have no ailerons available. So as I demonstrated, the turns can only be achieved by using the spoilers. So if you extend the spoilers during flight, the turn capability is drastically reduced. On the ground this doesn't matter any more because you have no lift and do not need the spoilers for turns any more. Regards

Hi BB: you say we can only run 5 min on TOGA-power in normal conditions and 10 min on TOGA-power in an emergency. What about FLEX-power? Can the engines run longer after a FLEX-take-off?
@iconicskies3 жыл бұрын
The same conditions apply for FLEX as for TOGA. After the time limit, you switch to MCT which has no time limit.

which software do you use flight simulator or P3D and how do you set the faults On fslabs 320 where are the failure options to program them
@Blackbox711 Жыл бұрын
Hi. In the MCDU options page you will find the failures. There you enter the overfly symbol (triangle on the keyboard of the MCDU) in failure and time to get random faults.

If the Green System is with low fluid, PTU can pressurize it?
@Blackbox7115 жыл бұрын
No. Only low pressure can be dealt with. But for that you need hydraulic fluid.

@gunnermatic18 жыл бұрын
why do you apply forward pressure when youre rolling down the runway on T/O?
@Blackbox7118 жыл бұрын
+gunnermatic1 .... up to 100 kts there is some forward stick input to increase the effectiveness of the nosegear steering, since the rudder is not completely effective. Above 100 kts the rudder is aerodynamically fully effective to maintain runway track.

If I had a single hydraulic failure of the blue system, can I continue the flight or should I land asap?
@Blackbox7115 жыл бұрын
Next suitable airport is advisable.
@vishalagarwal13634 жыл бұрын
Airline says you can continue since the backups take over and aircraft is still in normal law. As a captain divert to a suitable airport because if after that you have a dual hydraulic failure during investigation they will ask you why din’t you divert when you had a single hydraulic failure and will suspend you and the first officer saying compromised the safety of passengers.

how do you calculate sink or climb rates?
@Blackbox7116 жыл бұрын
You need the Ground Speed and also the amount of Altitude you want to lose/climb. For example you need to descend 24000 feet and the Groundspeed is 360 knots. In this case you are traveling 6 NM per minute. If you descend with 2000 feet per minute, you need 12 minutes for the descend. 12x6=72 NM required.

Just found the video, great stuff! However, a complete hydraulic failure isn't necesseraly a death sentence. You could still fly the aircraft with power-pitch and differential power for turns. Some chaps in russia landed a Tu-154 that way.
@Blackbox7117 жыл бұрын
+Bogdan Misko .. trust me, in the A320 it is a death sentence. The Airbus is not a Tupolev and unfortunately the stabilizer trim is not movable without hydraulic power. Hence you would need to maintain your current airspeed at the point of failure. And hitting the ground wirh a groundspeed above 250 kts is not survivable. Regards
