Do not cloak right of the bat, the enemy will just wait until it runs out, cloak just as the enemy fires, that wastes their time and with missiles its a sure miss.

It is only +60% evasion. You need 40% more to evade surly. While you are cloaced enemy can't charge but you can. You can sometimes destroy enemies weapons before giving any time to shoot. Situational. Useful.

@@principleshipcoleoid8095 You're never going to be able to do that to anything other than the weakest possible enemies in sector 1 and 2 on lower difficulties. Following that methodology will get you killed as soon as the enemy gets more than 1 shield bar and 1 or 2 points in weapons or they dodge your first shots, unless you can get four Flak 1s with Weapons Pre-Igniter or something similar.

@@KCzz15 I said it was situational. Even in later sectors against enemies with slow recharge and/or with weak defence and if you have good weapons. There is even an challenge for stealth cruser to kill in the time of one stealth. Again, this sometimes is better options. For example, enemy with beams stronger then your shields and other weapons. Gotta attack before they can charge. Sometimes you can shoot twice before enemy with max stealth.

You can always fire while cloaked, it just reduces the cloak timer unless you have "stealth weapons" augment. If you fire while cloaked, take a look at the timer and it will jump down.

Cloaking gives 60% evasion. So if you have 40% base evasion and cloak you get 100% evasion. So you can let them shoot and dodge the shot while you can charge your weapons. Tris means they effectively waste a shot. If you cloak before they fire, they don’t waste that shot. Also, stealth weapons means you can shoot without losing your cloak. Without them you can still shoot, but your cloak will deactivate sooner.

@@KCzz15 No, beam weapons affect cloak Also, you loose an amount of cloaking time, it doesn't turn it off instantly, but if you have lvl 1 cloak you loose like 80% of it per shot

I upgrade cloak and engines max before I can get shield. Once you have decent engines and full cloak, this baby is pretty good. Also, timing of the Laser and Beam weapon is essential.

Up for mods and captain's edition! But, please do repair a bit after making purchases, running tight on hull for other advantages is fun. But, once you get below 50% hull, you start to get to the point a bad luck weapon set up from an enemy brings the series to a very cheap ending in a couple seconds. Like in situations where you bought the Mind Control, but had 4 scrap left, please get the 2 hull points, small moments like that, to reduce the risk of a cheap ending. Don't give up fun for hull though, thats not what i'm asking ^-^.

Already commented; but feel free to restart whenever after the first few jumps. If you get Bullshited (Bullshat?) in said first jumps, theres no point in continuing a run with the problems caused. No FTL player wants to do that.

Stealth Cruiser A difficult? What are you on about?! As long as you save you scrap at the beginning until you find a shield generator then you're set. Edit: Oh and you don't rate the Titanium System Casing, sweet summer child.

At the start it's a bunch of dice rolls until you get lucky, shops are not guaranteed and even if you find one shields aren't guaranteed either nor is the scrap necessary for it Until you get that you're at a unlucky hit of loosing the run

well i can imagine that like a few thousand ppl already told you that Cloak isnt cloak ... :D it just increases your evasion by 60% while active ... so if you want to use it correctly and avoid haters .... try to use it when your enemy fires his first shots or rockets .... that way you can evade these shots and delay his next voley but so far are you doing pretty well for the fact that you never flew this ship :) btw English is not my Native Language so forgive my Grammar .... if you start the beam in the shields room and go the other way you do more damage. also repair your doors.

bloodred255 only with a halberd or glaive beam. The mini beam only does 1 damage and therefore can’t penetrate any shields.

bloodred255 but the mini beam only does 1 damage per room. So they only have to repair 1 damage. The shied will be taken down a layer (unless they have an extra value point) but it’s still only 1 repair. For a halberd or glaive beam it can be good to start in shields, since that could take the shield down a level and allow every subsequent room hit to do more damage, but a mini beam can’t pierce shields.

@@bloodred255 I get what you mean, but that would only be the case if the beam could penetrate the shield If you aim a 1 damage at shields it does nothing if you aim a 1 damage at the hull it does 1, regardless of where it hits first hitting the shields while they are down won't increase the 1 damage of the laser
