I have a question... Does anyone know if these type of procedures can be performed with the patients' own lab-grown skin (instead of using the skin on their body)? I'd be a huge advancement since lab-grown skin is already a thing (and it causes no rejection cause it has your own genetic material) and it wouldn't leave scarred tissue on the rest of the body.

Thinking about one of my own questions to you, How do you deal? Im sure posting and sharing is a great way to deal and probably a bit therapeutic. My second question though on how long did you have to wait. You probably answered that in another one of your vids, I must have missed it. Ill look back. Im with Kaiser, they have Dr. Jens Berli here at OHSU that they partner with. He is new, but hope to learn a lot more about him. OHSU really prides itself on having the best. So I guess if I must wait, it will give me time to find out results from others who have gone with him. I have met him once and he is very personable and wicked smart. It is nerving going with someone with less experience then who you were able to go with. But he has a pretty impressive history in who he has studied under and where. Pressure is on from the community for more excellent surgeons, so thinking that, he will Im sure be doing the best work he can. For us and to build a good reputation. All I can do is hope, right.... And really, thanks for sharing and being so open about Everything your going through. It really does help us immensely.. Peace

I am having my rff phallo with Dr. Crane, and I was wondering why Dr. Chen is doing your glansplasty in a second stage? Crane says if all goes well we can do it in my first stage, I know a lot of surgeons do wait till stage 2 but I figured Crane and Chen were doing similar stuff.

Chen says he has had better outcomes when he delays the glans. Sometimes when the glans is done in the first stage there is more chances of necrosis at the tip.

Usually glansplasty is done but sometimes surgeons opt to do it in stage one of phalloplasty but it depends.. each case is different, and each doctor is different! I am sure you could also opt out of it if you decided you didn't want it. :)

No degree required. I was born without a penis. Phalloplasty is a procedure where they take skin, nerves and blood vessels from your forearm to create a new penis.
