I am having my top surgery on June 1st and about a week ago I started feeling nervous and worrying about loosing my chest. I hate it and I want it gone but yes it has been there for my whole life and its going to be weird not having it there. I had seen your video when you were going through your pre op anxiety and it calmed me down and made me realize that it is natural to feel this way. You're awesome man. thank you for posting that video and all the other videos you post. I just want you to know you have/do help and make quite the difference in peoples lives.

I naturally fall asleep on my back and it's really comfortable for me. My problem is going to be that I'm a violent sleeper and even if i'm chained down my body is going to find some way to twist into some ungodly shape while i'm asleep. If anyone has advice, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Just a couple of pieces of info to those having surgery: for my top-surgery I was able to sleep on my side after a day or two (even before the drains came out, I just had to do it carefully). For hystro, the problem isn't sleeping on your side, it's turning that will really hurt like hell. For bottom surgery, you have to sleep on your back, with your legs spread for a while, which is very uncomfortable.

& something I didn’t anticipate: for me personally, the pain was worse after the first week. That’s when I started getting tingling, shooting pains because my body is trying to repair itself. The first week was more so about dealing with nausea & dizziness, for me. The second week was when I started feeling how tight and dry my incisions were. Just be aware of that, because I assumed the first 3 to 7 days would be the hardest, but nope

this video really helps, honestly. i'm not planning on top surgery but i've really considered it a lot in the past. regardless, i'm working on my fitness to try to change my body more that way. your advice really helps as well just to hear from somebody whose gone through top surgery and stuff and how eating right and exercise can help your body pre-op or not pre-op as a trans identified person!!

Start working out and slowly weening your body off of sugar by eating healthier. Fruits definitely help!

I was reading the NHS pdf about gender dysphoria because I have to take it with me when I see my GP, and it mentioned quitting smoking. I'm gonna go cold turkey when I finish my current pouch of tobacco, because I'd much rather be smoke free and be able to transition (according to the pdf, quitting smoking is required). Also, chest surgery is something I really feel strongly about having and although it's a ways off, I do have anxiety about things going badly. I guess the hardest thing is that for me, is that smoking is such an emotional crutch? But being able to transition is more than enough motivation to quit smoking for me personally.

I have always slept on my back and never have any discomfort from it. I don't really know how people could sleep any other way... if I wake up on my side, my arm hurts, and I have never woken up or fallen asleep on my stomach. Just me, though
@aaronpowell21536 жыл бұрын
For me not smoking was just not an option. I really really tried but it was not happening. I cut down to maybe 2 or 3 a day and it worked out pretty well. I would get extremely dizzy after a couple puffs tho. I was never allowed to go out and smoke by myself because of this dizziness and even now (2 months post op) i get a little light headed when smoking. I defiantly recommend stopping but my nipples are still good
