Het ontwerp is van mijn eerste NL sprinter uit 1967. De replica werd gebouwd in 2004.
Het bouwen van het frame was dus niet zo moeilijk, alleen het uitzoeken van de juiste buismaat voor optimale sterkte en lage gewicht koste wat rekenwerk.
Verder werd vlak achter het balhoofd een knik in het frame gemaakt om de kin nog lager te kunnen leggen. De motor was aanvankelijk een 50cc en werd in 2006 vervangen door een cilinder die opgeboord werd tot 53.7mm. De ontwikkeling hiervan koste wat meer tijd om het hoge vermogen van 30pk te kunnen halen. Ook dit is met rekenwerk vooraf, vooral in de balans van het geheel en de keuze van het juiste toerental, heel goed te doen. De uitlaat is bvb nog steeds de eerste ondanks dat er daarna nog 2 als proef zijn bij gemaakt. De proef in 2006 was bedoeld om op een eenvoudige manier aan de 90cc te komen en om te zien of een zwaar overvierkante motor toch goed kan werken. Tevens om te zien of dit met een standaard Kreidler cilinder ook redelijk te realiseren was. In werkelijkheid kost die zwaar overvierkante verhouding ca 10% van het poortoppervlak en dus van het vermogen en ook de mindere uitvoering van de spoelkanalen door toepassing van een standaard Kreidler cilinder kost nog eens ca 10%. Als het gaat om het maximaal haalbare dan zou deze 2 factoren nog verbeterd moeten worden.

I started racing in 1964. Computers were still not there. I did hardly no calculation. With the advent of the computer everything has changed and complicated calculations are no problem any more. All old historical notes were struggling. In the past 15 years I got a number of programs. Beside I did developed many programs myself in Excel. It was my profession to do so for my employer for many years.
In 2003 also began making calculations for third parties. Not everything, but a lot can be calculated very accurately for any twostroke engine. For instance the exhaustpipe can be calculated in almost exactly the correct speed for which the setup and cylinder is optimal. Even by a large kart engines manufacturer (TM) was found to be not entirely correct. With a new calculated combustion chamber and exhaustpipe it was far better then before.
This is also partly due to the information I got from Jan Thiel and was freely available after retiring from Aprilia racing end 2007.
Also the UltraSap ignition developed by my son Raimond was a very important part. The combustion and power are strongly influenced. Read about this subject my note on Facebook
