FTX kanyon review

Great review and congrats on getting such a fine R/C truck! Had mine about 6 months and not had anything break or fall off, I have ali rails running from end to end and have mounted the spare wheel at the bank on a bracket coming from the rear bumper as when mounted on the body in a fall can crack the lexan (ask JDQUAD) all in a all a fantastic crawler that will happily do a 2km hike on a 2500 NiMh.

Very informative review there my friend. I've got a HG P601 6 wheeler and the chassis on that has more flex than pilates class...I mean talk about bendy!! Deffinitely love the idea of putting metal through it to help stiffe up the chassis...and also means you can anchor other stuff to it directly in the future if you want. For the price, deffinitely can't go wrong especially compared to say Axial and Traxxas crawlers. Well thought out review too..coverd all the areas brilliantly and picked out some areas for improvement too....eg when you showed the rear lights I thought 'too square, I'd round of / chamfer the edges'...and you said exactly the same thing hahaha...looking forward to seeig this in action and using the winch to pull itself put of a sticky situation 😉👍🇬🇧

Hi man! I’ve just got the Kanyon but I’m having trouble mounting the spare wheel on because it seems that the hole is too small for the screw and it just won’t fit😢

The whole in the shell or the mountain plate If it's the shell just make the hole bigger buy screwing the screw through it👍👊

there great for the price upgrade motor to a 35T on ebay chassis mod there are loads of video on it the stock esc will run on a 2s lipo for a trail truck/crawler there a good bit of fun👍🤟🇬🇧👊😎😊

For the price it's a really good crawler but if you want something a little smallerI suggest the FTX outback 1/10 as the Kenyon is very big👍😊😎👊👊

A few saying on different sites don't touch anything ftx? I really want to get into crawling just for my own enjoyment. Not joining clubs or getting into comps. Most are saying go with Axial or TRAXXAS etc. But reading all the positives of the Ftx Kaynon i still think I will stay with this. Probably put different tyres on and add weight to them. Possibly add a hobby wing 1060 esc at a later date and do other upgrades over time. What do you guys think.

I've had ftx 4 years all different types I really don't know why people complain the Kenyon is love to buy most if you checkout 009 Adventures he has drowned his done everything to it and it's still going he's only had to change a bearing all the parts cheap the shell is one of most expensive parts to replace but gears bearings Arms are all cheap it's an awesome capable truck I put t35 Motor in mine it crawls just the same but we'll go twice as fast if you want it to 2.2 Steel rims there is loads of videos out there and I've not heard anybody moan about the kanyon don't get me wrong I love Traxxas but they're very expensive it's a perfect starting rig the ftx and the ESC can be programmed to run on lipos👍👍👍😎😎

@@Leonsrchobbys thx mate for your input. Iam surprised you put a t35 motor in as a crawler isn't needing speed, that said iam new to the crawling part of r/c so I may stand corrected. Yes I have indeed seen 009's vids on what he has done. From what I can make out now maybe iam wrong but there seem to be a bit of elitist going on in r/c I know it exists in the aero clubs over here.

@@madbren the reason I put the motor in because I wanted the same slow crawling capabilities but when it comes to puddles and small jumps looks cool in slow motion when it gets a bit of air plus it's a great platform to test different Motors as they're really easy to remove and put back👍😎😎👍

You can upgrade the motor to a 35 t that will make it go faster but they are trail truck /crawler they're not supposed to be fast😊👍👊🇬🇧😎🤟
