Awesome vid Jake - lots of effort on your part. I've just inherited a 10yo Nitro 4wd 2.5cc truck kit, all parts present (except for motor and RC control) and completely unbuilt. Until I saw your vid, I was content just to enjoy the build and put it on the shelf. Now I think I'll just have to make it and my son and I can terrorise the local bush tracks, parks,, pavements, shopping centres, retirement homes etc. as any responsible father would do with his boy. 3 tanks is only the very beginning of break-in, but yes -- most people don't even bother to do that much. The longer and easier the break-in period, the longer the engine will last. I have the same engine sold with HPI stickers on it in several of my RCs, and I haven't had to replace the engine internals in any of my engines in 5 years.

It's strange to me because the lifespan of your engine is entirely dependent on running the break in period properly

Just got myself a zorro which is identical but with a Z instead of a T lol but ive not taken it for a run yet, just installed some road tyres and a tuned pipe but now the pipe touches the fuel tank so gotta re-locate or wrap the pipe. Truck looks better than expected.

How does that failsafe work if the receiver battery dies or gets disconnected? The servo would have no power to close. I prefer mechanical failsafe like a hairband

Hi CJ, what battery are youn using for the reciever box please, there is quite limited space in the box and Im not very impressed with the BNC connector four AA battery pack they provide. your guidance is apreciated by a newbie to Glow engine cars (have been building r/c yachts for years). thanks in advance. Im also inclined to change the switch with a charge lead in situ to charge the RX battery instead of keep opening the box , the screw under the brake lever is a bit difficult to get at. Nigel,

I've been ripping the heck out of my Nitro Carnage all year. Great truck and the parts are cheap as feck. Most of them are interchangeable between the torro and carnage except the center dogbones which are slightly longer in the Torro. Great video . . Looks great to drive, The carnage doesn't come with sway bars either as stock but the Torro does. Subbed

Hi. Did anybody have any issues with the truck not idling ? When I start to reduce the Throttle trim is just cut’s out. I’ve ran 3/4 tanks of fuel from new. Any help would be Great.

oh guys just a quick tip for you all: its kinda hard to notice but the body of this truck is sitting on an angle because the internal frame of the body hits the exhaust and its even worse with the plastic exhaust deflector so i recommend you guys turn the exhaust so it faces practically downward and change the silver exhaust holder thing with a bent spoke that hold the exhaust so it faces downwards

Make sure you upgrade the bottom plate because its plastic and breaks after 5 mins there is a metal upgrade on wheelspin models ive broken plenty of the bottom plate more than it costs for metal one and check grubscrews in front and rear driveshafts and exhaust screws as they all come loose after few runs or put loctite on them when you buy not everything has it on

No. im running with the built in one. It works quite well but as for the batteries when they get low. it just lets them die so if they die while its at full speed it will continue because there will be no power to stop it.
