Yes, why spend $20-30 per person at a ``cheap`` diner/restaurant? It`s a fortune. You might splurge on Xmas/ birthday, but that`s about it. I feel bad for the employees of these places, perhaps losing their jobs, but owner greed is no good, either.

LOL! Your cooking is just fine. The biggest problem with folks in this nation is thinking everyone wants to hear their less than complimentary comments. If they took a few moments to pray and have a word with the Lord. There would also be far less strife. My husband came into see what I was watching, he's impressed and so am I. Have a wonderful independence Day. God bless.

Princess, I have a meat mallet. I place the chicken in a previously used storage bag and pound with the mallet to make it uniform and cook evenly. The greatest part is it doubles the size of your chicken breast. I had been breading and cooking like Popeye chicken sandwiches, and my grandson loves them. They are so full of calories I do not make them for him often. I think he would just love your way of fixing the sandwiches. Not to concern yourself with miserable trolls who are probably handwashing so much they are destroying their natural body flora. As an RN I saw cases where their hands became raw and had to be treated. There is such a thing as being too clean, better known as being too silly!

My first job at 15 was working at Fuddruckers in Anaheim, CA. Their food was amazing, not cheap, but more worth the money than competition for sure. Back then, they received sides of beef in the butcher shop portion, and they cut and ground their own burgers. They made the burger buns from scratch too, same for the cinnamon rolls. The cookies and brownies were a mix, but the brownies especially were awesome.

Fantastic sandwich. I have made it all my life, but with mayo, onions and tomatoes. I have never buttered my buns, I will in the future in order to make them beyond delicious, but scrumptious . I live in Chile, so no possibility t of getting the stuff you added to the potatoes, but maybe a little paprika and a little garlic powder before I get it out of the pan, I like semi fried spices. Keep being frugal, I am 79 years old, and I certainly would love to have now some of the money I spent unnecessarily throughout my life. Life is very expensive nowadays. Big hugs from Santiago de Chile. ❤❤❤

Now I know why store bought chicken breasts are always so much tougher than restaurant chicken breasts! The restaurants use BRINED chicken! Brine: 4 cups cold water, 6 T kosher salt-2 T brown or white sugar. Boil brine for 5 minutes, let cool completely and pour in zip lock bag. Put chicken breasts in bag and let soak for 2 hours before cooking. Remove the chicken and cook as you like. Ta Da- moist fork tender chicken breasts!

Animal fat is not unhealthy, that's a myth spread by the sugar industry in the 60s which unfortunately has survived to this day. The only fat you want to avoid is seed oils like canola oil or palm oil (basically every item in the supermarket with a label on it contains this).

When my son was home for Thanksgiving we were eating turkey for days. I could tell he was getting really tired of it. So what I did was toast the buns in a pan with butter. TIP. If you happen to live close to an Oroweat facility, they will have an outlet store with product at half the price. They sell for $2, a 24oz loaf. If you buy four loaves, the fifth is free. So five for only $8. I will get five and freeze them as I usually toast my bread. Lasts me for the month. They also sell buns, bagels and pastries.

Yum! The only thing I would swap out is the oil. I discovered that seed oils are really bad for you, so I use extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, extra virgin coconut oil, ghee or butter - each depending on what I'm making. Also when buying EVOO, I make sure it's from one source, not mixed from several sources.

I made 8 Philly beef steak sandwiches using sauted onion and green pepper, shredded mozzarella on buns not on sale, and au jus for $20. Pure treat for me. Cannot even remember the last time I did that. 8 into $20.00 is $2.50. So glad you posted this. I have felt a little guilty until today. I cook a beef roast and slice it after it has cooled off; then food saver and freeze individual meal sized portions. I use a cheap (?) electric meat slicer to get the slices thin enough - they are always too thick if I try to slice them with a knife. No nitrates and other chemicals, and the flavour is unbelievable - but (!) you do have to wait for a cooler day to cook the roast. I'm doing one right now as a matter of fact. One meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes, and veg; and the rest will be sliced up for sandwiches and Philly beefsteak.

Actually, the French chefs call all the " brown bits" in the bottom of a skillet "fond" they consider it GOLD because all the flavor is concentrated it that. If your don't use the fond, you are losing a lot of the flavor that you have built up in cooking. BTW, I have 3 4 legged supervisors while I cook. They always want samples for "quality control". I think it's a scam, but I go along with it. Love your vids. Mike from Mass.
