Pelinal Whitestrake honestly holds a really interesting similarity to an Automaton. A Robot. Think about it. He's powered by a soul gem with Shor's blood. He has impenetrable armor. When he's decapitated, his head continues to live, and to speak to Morihaus. We're never given much of a description of him, save for this armor of his, and that his chest could be opened and that he had no heart. Like a mini Numidium.

I wonder what gods the Akaviri worship. I also wonder if they had their own oblivion crisis before. Also I wonder when their dragon war took place as compared to the Nordic one. Probably very early in the Merethic era considering all the dragons fled to Atmora and Tamriel

@idipped2521
@idipped2521 3 жыл бұрын
@split haven Yeah I think if we were to get a game in Akavir it should definitely be in the First or Merethic eras. Most of our lore from Akavir is from then and it would only make sense. Plus, it would leave mystery as to what's happened in Akavir since the first Era because a lot can and will change in 4000 years. Plus it would also be a way to give us more lore and mysteries from Tamriel in the form of rumors such as the ones we get from Tamriel about Akavir. For example, if there was a game set in Akavir in the early first era they could say "Rumor has it that Tamriel has an empire ruled by a man-bull, but conflict is arising due to human-centric zealots becoming a larger force in the empire in the last 25 years", or we could hear about new mysteries from early first era Tamriel such as info about the Lilmothiit or something of the sort. It would also be cool to see the remnants of pre-dragon war Akavir, since the Tsaesci and KaPoTun empires were largely destroyed during the war and most if not all dragons were killed. It would be interesting to see if any men were left in Akavir in the first era, or if there were only echoes of what their civilization once was. Also, I'm sure there would be plenty of dragon burial mounds lying around due to the fact that most Akaviri dragons were killed. I'm sure they would have to include Akaviri men just to give us more options to play as and just say they went extinct after. Also, I wonder how the architecture of the snake men and Akaviri humans differed. For every mystery that's uncovered in the Elder Scrolls a new one needs to be presented just for us to have more to discover. And a game set in early first-era Akavir would do just that because maybe it would even reveal info about Akavir without letting us know what's happened in the last several thousand years and maybe even reveal that there's a continent to the east of Akavir that we haven't heard of just due to sheer distance from Tamriel

Gods are like mountains sticking up from the ground. Worshipped from one side, it may be frigid, dark and cold. The other, warm and inviting. Some may view the mountain as daunting and looming, while others view it as a challenge, or reminder of nature. This is the Gods of Nirn. Same object, viewed from a different angle, from a different group of people with a different set of histories and principles. Cheers.

Perrif spoke to the Handmaiden again, eyes to the Heavens which had not known kindness since the beginning of elven rule, and she spoke as a mortal, whose kindle is beloved by the Gods for its strength-in-weakness, a humility that can burn with metaphor and yet break [easily and] always, always doomed to end in death (and this is why those who let their souls burn anyway are beloved of the Dragon and His Kin), and she said: "And this thing I have thought of, I have named it, and I call it freedom. Which I think is just another word for Shezarr Who Goes Missing... [You] made the first rain at his sundering [and that] is what I ask now for our alien masters... [that] we might sunder them fully and repay their cruelty [by] dispersing them to drown in the Topal. Morihaus, your son, mighty and snorting, gore-horned, winged, when next he flies down, let him bring us anger." ... [And then] Kyne granted Perrif another symbol, a diamond soaked red with the blood of elves, [whose] facets could [un-sector and form] into a man whose every angle could cut her jailers and a name: PELIN-EL [which is] "The Star-Made Knight" [and he] was arrayed in armor [from the future time]. And he walked into the jungles of Cyrod already killing, Morihaus stamping at his side froth-bloody and bellowing from excitement because the Pelinal was come... [and Pelinal] came to Perrif's camp of rebels holding a sword and mace, both encrusted with the smashed viscera of elven faces, feathers and magic beads, which were the markings of the Ayleidoon, stuck to the redness that hung from his weapons, and he lifted them, saying: "These were their eastern chieftains, no longer full of their talking."

When Lorkhan was murdered by Auriel and trinimac his blood seeped onto earth and was made into a jewel by the ayleids and called Chim-El Adabal skip forward to Allessias rebellion and she prays to the gods specifically Kyne Lorkhans Sister wife basically saying she understands why Lorkhan created the world which is "freedom through limitations" Moved for Allessias love and loyalty to her Brother/husband the god sends her demigod son Morihaus with the Amulet of Kings (this is all proven through in game lore) next part is my speculation but since both nedes and elves worship Auriel it caused a split in God of time into two distinct and separate aspects yet ultimately a part of one big whole the elven aspect and the nedic aspect or Auriel and Akatosh (this is why Akatosh is quite literally mad) I also think the latter aspect of Akatosh gave some form of agency to pelinals rage

Akatosh has been tricked into maintaining order in mundus, mundus keeps Shezzar strong while it weakens Akatosh. The more pigeonholed into supporting the Human order Akatosh becomes, the more influenced by humans he is, the stronger Shezzar grows. The deified cults of Alessia, Ebonarm, and Talos, are Shezzar returning to god-hood by proxy. All part of his trickster plan. Humans are the final tower of mundus. As long as the humans exist, mundus exists, and as long as the humans build Empires, Shezzar can be re-deified by proxy, while maintaining his sentience, while the other gods are reduced by mundus to an earth-bones kind of state where they are not fully sentient.

@hatncloak45
@hatncloak45 3 жыл бұрын
@@deshawnbrown5714 As far as the Thalmor are concerned, Ulfric is ONLY unwillingly helping them as long as Skyrim is locked in civil war. I believe the Thalmor are actively maintaining the stalemate, so that both the Empire and free Skyrim are weakend. If you break the Stalemate for the Stormcloaks, that spells disaster for the Dominion, because they already have trouble against Hammerfell, and a free Skyrim will undoubtably ally with Hammerfell for mutual protection, and possibly High Rock, as their geographic location makes this triple alliance optimal. Together they have seapower to land in Alinor, as well as strong Warriors and Battlemages to take the fight to them. Cyrodiil, what remains of the Empire can then use this situation to finally throw out the Thalmor, recover, and strike back on their own. On the other hand, reclaiming Skyrim for the Empire is still better than the stalemate, but yields far worse odds of defeating the Dominion than freeing Skyrim, as the Empire is already in shambles, has terrible relations with Hammerfell, and overall a vulnerable position with very few possible alliances. They are also still bound by Thalmor treaties, with many elven agents embedded in their command structure. In short: Ulfric winning is best for the future of man.

Actually, Akatosh is Lorkhan, if you look at the details you will percieve it. The elves think Akatosh is equivalent to Auri-El the same way the nords used to think Alduin in equivalent to him, but the both were wrong the same way. 1) Both are related to Dragons/Snakes. Primordials symbols of chaos and change, which Lorkhan symbolizes, not Auri-El. 2) Talos (and also Ysmir) is not only the dragonborn (a title and power that is said to be given by Akatosh) but also shezarrine, a reincarnation of Lorkhan's soul on a mortal body. 3) Akatosh plane is located on Mundus, where the planes of the Aedra who followed Lorkhan are, while Auri-El's followers planes are on Atherius. 4) Akatosh supported the humans on Cyrodill to rebel against the elves, why would Auri-El go against his followers? It would make much more sense that Lorkhan would have supported them. 5) Also it is said that Lorkhan delivered a message from Akatosh to Alessia, why would Auri-El ask his worst enemy to deliver a message? That would not make sense. 6) Lorkhan's plane, which is Sovengarde (Tsun, another god, confirms it on the game) is not located anywhere on the cosmology. Wouldn't it be Akatosh's plane? In the end Lorkhan were muredered, but, even winthout heart, he couldn't he destroyed, because the world became his body, and his soul came back on the form of dragonborns to help the mortals when it were most needed; he were Ysmir, the dragon of the north, and Talos, also the dragon of the north, who is represented on his statues above a snake (that is Lorkhan), symbolizing he taking his place at the pantheon, symbolizing Lorkhan assuming his new form. Alessia never baned the cult of Lorkhan and never worshiped Auri-El, she worshiped Lorkhan, who is Akatosh, who is Ysmir and Talos, who were always at the imperial and nord pantheon, with his many forms. That is why Akatosh is Lorkhan, the main god of the imperial pantheon.

The difference between Shor and The Divines is that he does not proclaim himself to be a true God. Hence why Boethiah showed the Dunmer the lies of Trinimac and the other Aedra saying that they are the real Gods, and showed the Dunmer the tenets of the Psijic Endeavor to attain CHIM/Amaranth. The one true God worshiped by the Alessian Order/Skaal is the All-Maker/Godhead. Yes Shor is the true patron of man rather than Akatosh but he is not the true God

@@erwinamanciosilva7693 That's the way I see it. Shor is the son of the Godhead essentially, as he was the firstborn of Sithis, who is essentially the sub-conscience of the Godhead. For what reason he created Mundus doesn't really make any sense to me though. The Et'Ada were more powerful than mortals could ever be, however, they could not attain Amaranth as they were already divine, and the divines such as Akatosh can not know CHIM or Amaranth. So maybe that's why Lorkhan/Shor created Mundus, to allow for beings to break the cycle of time and become Godheads of their own universe. All of this is Tamrielic lore though, would be interesting to see the Akaviri/Atmoran spin on CHIM

@@erwinamanciosilva7693 I've thought about writing my own stories based on my headcannon of esoteric Elder Scrolls lore that hasn't really been expanded upon. If you're interested you can read the story I wrote last year and LMK if you think my writing style would fit for a good story. It's just a matter of how I would share it and how many people would read it, because I wouldn't want to create anything that anyone would read. My ultimate goal would be to contribute to the lore of an Elder Scrolls game eventually, but not a mainline one. It would have to be a game set before the Third Era, as a lot of people want a game that can expand upon the lore of the Dawn, Merethic, and First Eras. I personally think the First Era would be the best fit for a spinoff ES rpg kinda like Fallout New Vegas. A lot of people want a linear action-adventure TES game, but I would personally hate that. One of my favorite things about the Elder Scrolls is exploring and learning about the world, and the mystery is a big thing that makes it attractive to a lot of people. Having a game with a set narrative that has no exploration or world-building would suck IMO, plus I just like the ARPG format the series has been in since Morrowind. No reason to fix what isn't broken, because then it actually might break, just like with Fallout 76 for example

That is one hell of a thesis. You made my head swim. Just one question: when Martin broke the Amulet of Kings, he was transformed into an apparent avatar of Akatosh. Doesn't that argue in favor of an interpretation that the Amulet was wrought by Akatosh and contains a drop of *his* blood? I can't reconcile that event to your thesis. Which is magnificently argued, I will add. You are a peerless essayist for Elder Scrolls lore. I have long been uncomfortable with the idea that Lorkhan truly died when his heart was ripped out of his chest. Violence done to major gods can transform them (witness Malacath), but death is a slippery concept for those guys. But I confess, I never equated Pelinal to Lorkhan. You followed breadcrumbs to that conclusion that I never even noticed. It might be worth noting that the destruction of Lorkhan's heart at the hands of the Nereverine ushered in a couple of centuries of setbacks for humans. The empire became a shell of itself, and the elves had major successes in humbling it. At the end of Skyrim, the elves are poised to end the empire altogether and return humans to, if not literal slavery, at least to second-rate citizenship, for whom their religion is dictated by elves. Did Lorkkhan finally die when his heart was destroyed? Or, alternatively, was his hidden influence disrupted? How does a god recover from the destruction of his heart? The old texts furnish no clues. But I think it might be a mistake to think that Lorkhan, or Shor, or whomever, is ended. Death remains a slippery concept for Elder Scrolls gods. Thanks for making this video. Thoroughly entertaining!

Pelinal might very well have been Shezzarine, he matches the description of one and would probably mean that Shor/Lorkhan would not have been around at the time, which means it had to be another divine that communed with Alessia. The other reason I believe it must have been Akatosh is the Oblivion Crisis, Akatosh appeared at the end of Alessia's line, summoned by Martin Septim through the blood he bore and the Amulet of Kings. Still Shor was connected to it all, just not as Shor but rather as Pelinal.

Maybe the drop of blood solidified it into staying, and the Aeyliads arrived to find one of their wells already there. Surprised, they explored the bottom and found a strange, powerful gem.

Akatosh is portrayed as having two heads, one of a man and one of a dragon. Perhaps this is because Akatosh is the amalgamation of Auriel the dragon and Shezarr the protector of men. Akatosh is the protector of all mortals, which would be the result of combining the protector of men, Shezarr, and Auriel of the elves. Besides, in the vision where Alessia appears with a missing heart (hinting that it was actually Shezarr or a mixture of both), she is holding dragon fire in one hand and the amulet she received in the other, which also implies a combination of Auriel and Shezarr. During the Merethic Era and before, the Aedra following Auriel were in war against the Aedra who followed Lorkhan/Shezarr. Auriel’s side won, resulting in elvish rule throughout Tamriel, when Auriel and his follower Trinimac took Lorkhan’s heart. But when elves became tyrannic and sadistic slavers, it is possible that Akatosh did come to Alessia’s aid, in combined forces with Shezarr (or Kyne caring her husband’s will). This explains why elves never ruled Tamriel again, while Cyrodiil had three empires already, because this alliance of Auriel’s and Shezarr’s followers is still protecting this human nation, and this alliance is called The Eight Divines.

My biggest opposition to this theory is how complicated and depth there would have to bein that simulation. But then, as I listen to the depth of the Elder Scrolls, created in the 21st century, I can begin to understand how much more full and complicated a simulation could be developed a thousand years from now. Maybe it really is a thousand years from now and we're just npcs in a historical educational RPG. Thanks Fudgemuppet, I'll probably never sleep again.

While Auri-El was the chief god of the Mer, I think he's also sympathetic to mortals, even humans. Maybe at Kyne's request, Akatosh likely gave the Dragonblood to the Dragonborn, likely both to aid the mortals (mainly men) of Skyrim, and to punish Alduin for his ego. That, and Pelinal calls out to "Aka" in bouts of madness, which could be interpreted as either Pelinal sharing a connection the Auri-El, or Lorkhan calling out Akatosh. That said, Shor/Lorkhan was likely the one who answered Alessia and sent Pelinal, Pelinal likely being a Shezzarin anyway

My takeaway from this deep dive into Lorkhan is that he was the daedric prince of Mundus. Not necessarily a malicious one, possible even kind in some circumstances. His "dremora" were mankind. He invaded Auriel's domain, the domain of elves, and nearly conquered it. A treaty was formed and Auriel invited Lorkhan to "merge" domains. Once there, Auriel, with his 7 other daedra generals attempted to kill Lorkhan, but they couldn't without sundering their own domain. Thus we have the reason Elves despise Lorkhan (a vicious invader god who killed their ancestors) and why the humans went on multiple killing sprees against the elves (to take the domain for themselves). I think the realm of Mundus was a sort of accident and is therefore a unique domain of Oblivion that has a vacancy for a physical god.

Yeah, basically. That's why I love the ES universe. Its human origin story is often used as the origin story for demonkind in a lot of fictional lore. This pleases me. Humans should definitely "return to basics" to deal with the Dominion.

Thats what the mythic dawn believe, but its also wrong. Mumdus is not a plane of oblivion, because it exists outside the kalpic cycles. You know this because we have mortals inside it from previous cycles. The various planes of obliviom get destroyed and remade as akatosh eats itself.

When Trinimac and Auriel tried to destroy the Heart of Lorkhan, it laughed at them. It said 'This Heart is the heart of the world, for one was made to satisfy the other.' I really love this passage in the Monomyth, because it explains a lot about Lorkhan and Mundus. His heart is the manifestation of his divine spark. The Aedra severed Lorkhan from his divine spark, but they could not destroy it, for he imbued Mundus itself with it. As long as Mundus exists, he will never cease to exist. The way I see it, his spirit still haunts Mundus like a ghost, and this link to the mortal plane allows him to reincarnate in mortals as a Shezarrine. Pelinal is widely believed to be a Shezarrine, just like it was shown in this video.

So this is my crazy theory. Shor and akatosh are connected/the same person. Here me out. Soverngard is shor’s realm, so why does Alcuin have the right to the souls of the Norse there? The nords worshiped shor as the chief god but let the dragons rule over them until they became tyranical. So why were devoted followers of shor happy to let aspects of akatosh/auriel rule over them for so long? Why do they also venerate the Dragonborn who is child of akatosh? If Akatosh wanted the world destroyed to regain his power why did protect it from mehrunes dagon? And why after Lorkan’s “betrayal” did he take his heart and use it to create the red mountain, one of the towers that uphold the world? Now think about what Akatosh’s aspect is. It’s time. And what is time? It’s how we measure change. But before the creation of mundus wasn’t everything static? So what did that mean for Akatosh? A god of time where nothing ages, where nothing changes? What kind of place was that for him. So at the very least I think Shor and Akatosh conspired together to create mundus and in doing so tied themselves together. Shor became mundus, a realm for Akatosh to rule, where time had meaning. That’s why Alethia is called the bride of shor and auriel in that story. That is why I. Imperial temples Akatosh has both the face of a dragon and a man. They were working together/ in unison the entire time. Like I said, crazy theory.

Deuterocanonical, but I think Kirkbride said at one point that Lorkhan and Akatosh are different persons of the same entity, and are inherently tied to one another, which would explain their strange connection (not to mention their status as each other's Anuic or Padomaic counterparts).

But isn't Shor the divine that received primary worship in Cyrodill and Skyrim prior to white-gold concordat? What I mean is that, it's practically certain that Talos was in one way or another a Shezzarine. So worship of deified Talos would just be worship of Shor under another name. So even if Akatosh is the main source of iconography of the Empire, it is Talos - and thus Shor that is its real symbol.

You talk of gods, yet these weak spirits couldn't provide for this. For such a glorious revolution, for the beautiful change in the system, for the bloodsoaked destruction of the elven empire. No. None of these pretender gods could give those slave ambition to become free and the energy to do so. There was only true god who stood behind the human empires. The one that would eventually bring their end.

To hear Mankar Camoran talk, Mehrunes Dagon is a champion and defender of Lorkhan (and was created as such by the Magna Ge, purely Anuic beings), just as much as Boethiah, who revealed the Psijic Endeavor to Veloth and led him and his followers, the Chimer, to Resdayn, where the Heart of Lorkhan rested.

I personally beleive that when the humans danced on the tower and broke auriel, they used shards of Lorkhan to piece together Akatosh. In doing so I think that Lorkhan was reborn in the dragon of the empire, a fusion of anu and padomay.

This is why I love Imperial's and their lore. To the outside observer they look like generic humans but dig into the lore and you find out about Alessia the Slave Queen, Pelinal Whitestrake the Star Made Crusader and Morihaus the first Minotaur, Son of Kyne and their battle against the cruel Aylieds. From slaves to empire builders and the unifiers of Tamriel.

The main quest line in Oblivion indicates that Mundus is just another plane of Oblivion and I once read the theory that Lorcan is its Daedric Prince (the Daedric Prince of change). The aspect of change made his realm completely different from all other planes of Oblivion (immortality is in some ways the opposite of change after all). This aspect is also the reason why his lieutenants or whatever could betray him and declare themselves gods ect. It feels far stretched at some points but it also explains all the big questions ^^

What if Pelinal and the Amulet of Kings is Akatosh mixing his own blood with the Chim-el Adabal which already had Shezarr's blood in it? Combining the blood of Shezarr and Akatosh making the incredibly powerful Amulet of Kings.

Pelinal whitestrake seems to me to be a manifestation of the Numidium. since the amulet of kings is apart of lorkhans heart (except seperated) it may be that a lesser form of the numidium formed around it during Alessia's Rebellion and of course this aspect of the Numidium may have had the mind of the underking. it could be that Ysmir Wulfharth rewrote Tamriels history when he became one with the Numidium in the plot of Daggerfall
