The only problem is you can't mod it. You can get the same effect from medium armor with mods to boost armor rating and speech (silver tongue mod). Plus you can add a backpack mod so you can carry more stuff.

Ya I was using the sublight armor (cr the actual name) but it has 4 upgrade slots is medium armor and looks like clothing instead of the usual bulky armor

Me I’m not saying that, i’m saying the if the board hates you, they will attack you on sight. The vendors don’t always apply to this rule, but the game still treats them as hostiles (can’t interact)

Me Also, I have since answered the question I asked originally. I tried over a dozen different ways to get into the store (different builds etc..) and with my board reputation it was impossible to interact with her. I eventually came to the conclusion that killing her was the only thing i could do to make progress, but if you use the office key off her corpse without doing the pre requisites, the room has basically nothing inside. I know that there is a quest before the end of the game that resets your board standing to neutral, but in my case i had already gone past that point and have no way of recovering my board rep without slaughtering the other factions.

If you piss them off to the point of attacking on sight before you get access to Byzantium then I imagine you can’t get it.

Would you be interested in doing a non-violent build, centred around dialog and leadership skills? The idea being to preference peaceful solutions whenever possible? Ultimately, work with Phineas, but also try to build a positive relationship with the Board, since having them on your side will help make Phineas's plan a reality more quickly. Build relationships, put the right people in power (meaning send power to Edgewater, but oust Tobson and install Adelaide, and remove Graham from leadership and put Zora in charge of the Iconoclasts, then negotiate a peace between them and MSI, and finally, get Rockwell and Sophia to accept you as the one in charge of the colony to work with Phineas) and use companions to do all the fighting when necessary. Gear: Chimaera, A Nice Hat, Soft Speaker (a unique telescoping staff that grants a +10 bonus to Intimidate, just for being equipped - you never actually have to use it in combat) Build as many positive relationships as you can: even with Sublight. But ultimately, don't kill the Dr, because getting her to work with the Board will help boost your rep with them. Wherever possible, choose a non-violent solution (let the cartographer go, even though it'll piss off Sophia).

Fully leveled up on my character this has higher armor than elite heavy armor level 30. Plus with the dialogue buff in a game so heavily dialogue based there is really no reason not to use it.

I almost fucked up when I killed the iconoclasts and realized I couldn't get armor for this quest. Luckily I was able to find the vendor from the blown bridge and he had some to sell. There's also a set under the waterfall in Fallbrook.

FudgeMuppet, I have a theory for you. It starts as a simple question, Is The Outer Worlds an alternate future to the Fallout Universe?. The point of divergence would be the Great War in Fallout, a Great War that is also mentioned throughout TOW wether it is the same Great War is a matter for debate but still. The Great War is said to have devastated Earth in the past and left corporations in bad light, could it be that the Great War of 2077 was not a MAD(Mutually Assured Destruction) exchange (as it was in Fallout)but rather instead, a tactical one. Thoughts anyone.

As much as i adore this theory, theres a few plotholes here, 1, skipdrives and the colonists started in the 21st century, while mr.houses colony ships wouldnt have happened till the 23rd century, and 2, the world has a lot of ww1 themed propaganda and styling suggesting an alternate timeline than prewar fallout

@@redsixx669 No theory is ever completely void of Plotholes, it what makes debating them fun. My answer to No:1 is that, in this theory, the Great War of Fallout was not the Apocalypse it was in the Fallout Universe but a more controlled nuclear exchange. Meaning Human civilization was not destroyed. In the aftermath of this war the nations of Earth would have been hard pressed to rebuild with the planet's already near depleted recourses, pushing them to reach for the stars ,The Skipdrive could be developed in this timeframe. My answer for No:2 is that we have no idea what the culture is like for the rest of humanity. We know and explore Halcyon, but all we know of humanity outside of the system is that an Earth Directorate is humanities overarching administration. The Board have engineered everything in Halcyon to indoctrinate the population to be the ideal worker slaves, would it truly be a surprise if they deliberately engineered the culture as well. Board buildings are far closer to the Art-Deco style of Fallout then anything else in the system as far as I have seen.

I admit it's not practical but in these games I tend to favor fashion over function. I'll wear the big thick armor if it fits the character I'm trying to build, but I am not afraid to send my scientist character out into the thick of it wearing only the fancy street clothes or a lab suit, or my diplomat in nice suit.

It's not that great, once you hit the level after byzantium, you get helmets that give 87 defensive and medium armor that gives 65 armor, that is 100% customizable.

The game holds the gun so weirdly. especially when you aim and the gun looks like its coming out of your chest. cant see hands moving while running, cant see feet or body. No animations ive seen yet.
