No, I understand the gift part- lack of kids' birthday gifts is one reason (not all of them), that we have all these school shootings. Kids remember this- her son would have remembered a birthday where he didn't get a gift and grow up angry and possibly shoot up a school because of it. He said send me $12 and I will send you the title implying that he was paid in full. No judge can ignore that. In fact had she not admitted that she owes him $20 that should have been waived as well. Even if he felt that she owed him whatever amount of money, once he said send me $12 dollars and it yours letting her believe it's paid off and she does it. It is really a new deal altogether. It called an accord and satisfaction in the eyes of the law. Look it up
