I'm been an Uber driver I'm Chicago for 5 years, i only drive Ford hybrids, i have never had a problem with any of my vehicles, i currently drive a ford fusion 2012 on 180k miles, and my last car was a 2010 fusion that i drove 260k miles ,I sold it for 1k and still drove fine. Extremely reliable cars.

I have seen Escape Hybrids out of NYC Taxi Fleets at auction with over 500000 miles and still were driving fine

I have Mav hybrid. 2000 miles. Using EV coach. 46 mpg avg. 60/40 city, highway driving. Smooth, comfy, quiet. Can’t believe the value this thing delivers.

We've been getting 37-39mpg (calculated from fill ups) on our Lariat Hybrid with city/suburb type driving, and we're at 4,209 miles so far. It's been great.

Looking like Ford has found a sweet spot for "non truck" people with the added incentive of great gas mileage. Now if they can just get them produced

I was helping a friend look for a cost effective, fuel efficient vehicle and it was difficult to find anything less than $30k. The $20k base maverick is the cheapest option and it’s seems pretty great in the base trim, but we couldn’t find any in stock or without crazy markups.

nope, the Maverick is a Hybrid that no one wants, Better if it was build as a BEV 100% electric from ground up. no body is buying Hybrids anymore.

I drive a 2016 Fusion Hybrid which I bought new; anytime the temperature is above 50 Fahrenheit, I have no problem getting over 50 mpg, regularly. If you keep the speed under 70, and don’t blast the heater or a/c, the mileage improves dramatically.

37 mpg is the kind of mpg we expect from Toyota hybrid trucks, but aren't getting. Great job, Ford!

The only Hybrid Toyota Truck is a Full Size Tundra, most definitely not going to get 37.

2022 Maverick Hybrid. Drove from western New York state recently to Way north in California. About 3200 miles. Average mpg over 10 fill ups was 33.366. Take into consideration: Speed limits up to 80mph and also that going west, cross country, vehicles usually encounter headwinds. (I often go 7-8mph over the legal limits, as well.) Previously, while in western New York State, this summer, I drove about 2300 miles, on surface streets, where speed limits are from 30-55mph. Average mpg at those lower limits was about 37.5 mpg. Worst mileage I've seen on this vehicle 21.1 (88mph speed). Best was 50 mpg briefly, (when driven by my son... purposely driven like 'an old lady' he stated). Vehicle currently has 9230 miles total on odometer. Do not trust mpg shown in the vehicle's instrument cluster, do your own math, over numerous tanks of fuel. I used 87 octane most all the time, which is the minimum required by Ford for this engine.

Ford has had this system out for a dozen years with no problems. And, it's not a CVT, it's a eCVT. Very different.

We received a Ford Hybrid about 4 weeks ago. We are getting 6.2 liters per 100km, or 38 mpg. Only have 1000km on the car, halfway through the second tank of gas. The truck isn't perfect, but it does what we need it to.

The hybrid is not available with AWD though. :/

Hopefully the 2023 model will fix that. Of course the mpg will suffer but not as much as the eco boost turbo version.

The Maverick was in accessory power mode and the ignition was not fully on.

Content is great, but what is with the vertical and horizontal mixed video? I can understand if that is a small channel with a vlog style, but that's just too lazy for the content quality.

I got my hybrid i got 700 miles on truck i got 49.48 miles/gal on first fuel tank. Most of these miles are city miles.

I've had my Maverick for 2 weeks and I'm averaging 46 mpg with 60% highway miles. I don't know why so many people are getting lower gas mileage. I do drive the speed limit and I accelerate and brake slowly to make the best use of the battery.

Maverick Hybrid almost impossible to find especially at MSRP. A plug in Hybrid would be a real winner, lets say 40-50 miles on electric and 35+ mpg on gas in pure hybrid mode when battery is depleted. Gas is $6 a gallon and will be near $10 a gallon by labor day if this current rate continues. MPG is # 1 now....

@@themeowcasa that is not true, I ordered two Ford maverick’s a 2022 Ford maverick, XLT with the luxury package, my car came in, and they said that I had to pay a market adjustment of 5000 more than MSRP. I told them they could take that truck and stick it where the sun doesn’t shine. Ordered another 2023 XLT with the luxury package and from a completely different dealer and they did the same thing and wanted me to pay over $8000 in market adjustment. 28 months later I just drove home one tonight. XLT 2023 with the luxury package finally. Drove home over 400 miles from the dealer where I purchased it from and got 46 miles per gallon on back country roads of speeds under 65 mph. Was it worth it? That would be both yes and no. No one else has a mini truck that gets that kind of mileage. Thank you Ford.

Lazy. Why didnt you caculate the fuel consumption at fill up? It's very easy. Consumer Reports is slipping.

It Should be noted that Ford has a history of overestimating their EPA gas mileage, more higher than any other automakers. Maybe this truck is Ford's way of repenting, but no one can get this truck at MSRP anyway.

Wrong. I ordered my XLT Hybrid Maverick from Ford in July. Actually paid MSRP minus a $750 rebate. Paid $23,500 out the door. You can do the same when Ford reopens ordering August 15th for the 2023 units.

Thanks for the video. However, rather than rely on the car's meter, all you had to do was fill up and divide by the gallons used. Which would be more accurate, pending the instrumented testing.

A calculation on just a single tank is not a good indicator. Too many variables.

if you are talking about when he was showing the cluster that was key on engine off. which the check engine light is always on in that key mode.

Looks like check engine light and battery light is on. Wonder if this hybrid will also face the famous dead Maverick hybrid issue...

if you are talking about when he was showing the cluster that was key on engine off. which the check engine light and battery light is on during this key mode due to the engine/vehicle not running

The issue scupking is referring to is faulty battery cable soldering that leaves the hybrid without any power. Many buyers are making sure the service department double checks this known shortcoming prior to delivery.

As the price climbs with the options, the made in Mexico Maverick seems less appealing. There's still a large segment that wouldn't mind paying more if it were made in the U.S.A., so the moment the competition provides that alternative, the days of the new Maverick will be numbered.

Except this is one of the best selling vehicles Ford has ever made. The Maverick is completely sold out and used Mavericks are selling well above MSRP. Yes it is a unibody front wheel design but for most people it will do everything they need a “UTE” (not pick up) to do. 😉

That’s the Lariat loaded trim, base hybrid Maverick is $20k. Base CRV hybrid is $36k.
