To watch a great mechanic do a diagnostic on any vehicle is awesome for people who wonder what it takes to figure it out. It should open their eyes a little. The parts cannon is a substantial amount of money that dealerships love to do! Narrowing it down saves cost! Merry Christmas to the Rainman Rays repair family!

Neighbor had the same issue with his kia Sephia, of course couldn't get a new canister, so we cut some small holes in it, emptied it, went to the pet store bought a bunch of charcoal filter media for salt water tanks, filled it up JB welded the holes put it back on. The car last we talked he said has 450k miles+ on it and has no issues during fill ups 10 years later.

I'm always amazed at seeing the underside of these Florida vehicles, the lack of road salt makes everything an absolute pleasure to work on.

I was thinking the same thing - I'm from New England and every one of these I've ever seen is a total rot box! This truck is very clean.
@donniev818111 сағат бұрын
@mattabbey9190 yeah, it was like brand new under there. Maybe we people of the north should press the authorities to devise a better way of keeping our roads clean in the winter, like heated concrete lol. As advanced as our country is, there has to be a better way that does not destroy millions of cars.

People who overfill their tank by trying to get the the nearest whole number are going to eventually have this issue because it gets in the evaporator system and causes this to happen.

No charcoal canister on my 1996 Dodge Turbo Diesel so I always fill it to the brim so I can keep accurate fuel economy measurements. The only time I don't is when the fuel is too foamy.

Yes, A Vapor Canister/Purge Vapor Valve is not Designed to Vent Liquid Gas, I tell everyone to not Pack their Gas Tank with Gas, when Pump Shuts off--STOP FILLING--most do not understand...
@ZerotheWanderer6 сағат бұрын
Gas gets all bubbly when it's pumping, once it clicks off, give it like 10-15 seconds to stop bubbling, then go once more till it clicks again. Haven't had an issue in the 15ish years I've been driving and the 300k or so miles I have driven/filled up, work vehicles included.
@darkknight1456 сағат бұрын
@@ZerotheWanderer I do similar when I need to do a complete fill up for a very long drive, I listen for the gurgling in the filler pipe to stop, then I put more in. Been driving about 50 years (yeah I know older cars didn't have this issue).

I'm going to have to disagree with you, I recently purchased a new Toyota Camry SE and the car is extremely well designed and manufactured. It's an absolute dream to drive and these suspension and steering parts are made extremely well. That's what's great about Toyota, they do not up and change their designs for no reason. They continue to make things better. I personally believe a lot of its has to do with the standards and practice laws in Japan.
