@danielwatson6373 never understood why people feel so entitled to hate free KZbin content that you're not being forced to watch. I expect most of us have sat there and gone Ray don't do it like that because I wouldn't do it that way. I have, on occasion, commented and questioned why Ray has done something in the way he does it or I because I was always ways told when training don't do this. Ray does when he can address comments or has replied directly to my comment (always feels good to get a thumbs up or a reply), but I wouldn't outright be aggressive about how someone works.

I worked for a GM dealership for 12 years. Upper management pushes the service manager and writers to get every last cent out of a customer. Now all the blame is pushed onto the mechanic to hurry and get the job done!!! A new mechanic becomes another angry person in the shop. When I finally left as I was hired by a local school as a automotive instructor all bitterness went away. I told my students enjoy the desire and enjoyment to be able to diagnose and repair a customers vehicle. Many customers will thank you in return. Yanni

@robertpaulson829019 күн бұрын
Talk about a parts cannon. I have a 20 yo 2004 Corolla. I was chasing a P0171 Check Engine NOT REALIZING it was a fuel injector. I replaced the mass air flow sensor, the idler sensor on the main carbon body manifold, the O2 upstream sensor bank 1, the fuel pump strainer (through the back seat), the spark plugs THAT I FAILED TO NOTICE THE SLUGS BUILDUP ON THE FIRST PLUG and that little TAUNTING BASTARD OF A LIGHT STILL KEPT COMING BACK ON. Because I was unfamiliar with this situation and not noticing an error code with the injectors (figuring that if one or some were misfiring then it would show a code, but didn't) I wound up replacing all these other components and sensors before biting the dollar bullet and replacing all 4 injectors and ignition coil boots. AFTER the 4 injectors were replaced (and that I noticed the same oil residue in the same first cylinder as the spark plug) that little bugger went away AND STAYED AWAY. All n all, even after all the replaced parts in addition to the standard maintenance I've done in the past replacing the serpentine belt, the gasket for the main intake manifold, the front brakes and the countless oil changes I've done in my own with how to videos, I'll have to chalk this up as a learning experience and an investment for a car that's 20 yo and only at 168k miles.

The power and grounds looks to be only for the heaters. The other two lines are the O2 detections. Those are not referenced to the heater (or to ground) at all. And I believe the heaters are only there to get the sensing element up to temp a bit quicker than if it relied just on the exhaust heat to get it hot. If you were to connect the DMM in mV mode across the sensor wires, you should see some voltage across them, when the engine is leaned out. If the sensor is working.
