Hey Rick. Thanks for all the Chevy Tahoe health tips. My 2001 Tahoe has 302000 plus miles on it. This weekend I'm replacing the fuel pump due to the check valve is letting the pressure creep down overnight. I've watched a lot of your videos and they have been very helpful. Thanks man. Also your F*#kin attitude is cool. LOL. Keep em coming Let's keep these Chevys going forever.

That crap that came out of your injectors the first time was after JUST two years since your initial cleaning?!?!?!? I can't imagine how bad my injectors are!!! I just got my '05 Tahoe a year ago and I know for a fact the previous owner ( my bro-in-law) NEVER had the fuel system cleaned so I'm gonna tackle it NOW!!! Do you swear by the B-12 Chemtool? I've never tried that brand. Thanks for posting!

All the crud that came off in the soak was carbon buildup from being in the intake on the injector tip, it's not like all that came from inside the nozzle or anything. Totally normal and pretty much harmless. The detergents in your gasoline keep the Pintle and such from getting like that

i still over clean everything lol thanks sugarfree

Love your one liners. Great video as always and love the Steve Rob stickers. It's like Scottie Kilmer, you never know where he will pop out at the end of the video, same with the stickers; pretty creative.

I like the way you sprayed into a covered bottle, to reduce the chance that spark from the wiring could ignite the fuel/cleaner.
@RICKAFIX8 жыл бұрын
+spelunkerd That B-12 is a great cleaner but very volatile fluid.. well if it did go up in flames the video might go viral but I don't think it would be worth it... lol
@pfoxhound7 жыл бұрын
can you put the name of the chemicals that you used. also I'm wondering if this blackening was from chemical reaction like melting plastic from injectors...

Good idea. Did you notice a big difference in power after cleaning those injectors? Wow your oil leak looks exactly like mine. A drip on the bell house right by the "weep hole" and a drip off the oil filter. I'll definitely stay tuned for the outcome of that oil leak
@RICKAFIX8 жыл бұрын
+LTXMITCH Yea its a huge difference runs very smooth and the idle has less of a stumble...its not a huge stumble and no one else notices it but i feel it in the gas pedal..nothing dripping off the oil filter that was from yesterday I did not power wash it yet just the weep hole...boy does that bother me lol

I feel bad for only chucking injector cleaner in the tank once a year. That B12 stuff worked well. Would have been interesting to see spray patterns and rates before and after but not really an easy thing to setup. Nice job Rick.

+Badgertronix Thanks Badger.. Yea I am going to make a better injector cleaner next time to show the streams I agree both video's I did on this are in pickle jars lol they kinda of steamy in there and you can't see

Make sure you remove o rings before inserting them in chemicals (carburetor, brake cleaner) Such chemicals expand rubber
@RICKAFIX6 жыл бұрын
agreed also replace the o rings every time you do this

A well done video there Rick but I don't think you really accomplished much. It's right at the tip of the injector where the fuel sprays that's important and that part seldom get's dirty these days. I understand that parts of the US have poor quality fuel and the OTC pressure canister with a good injector cleaner will do the job for that. An air intake cleaning is beneficial also. We use BG products at work but you can't buy them just anywhere. That said, if it makes you feel better to do it like you did it then it's a good idea.
@SteveRobReviews8 жыл бұрын
Ha - nice LOL, that's the first vid I seen of doing that. I thought for sure the toilet bowl brush was coming out to clean the intake manifold, man I'd put a link in there for that one, it's a great vid. What I do every six months on the Silverado is clean them with the OTC pressure canister , I use 50-50 seafoam and gasoline. I do notice a difference in my idle from before and after. GM engines of that vintage are so easy to work on. Well done Rick.

Haha toilet brush and Q tip are my best tools...I have seen that canister in a bunch of vids it's very professional maybe one day I'll go get one...lol toilet brush haha

+RICKAFIX Start saving for a pressure canister... will be a time saver for sure! The gunk on the injector tips is pcv deposits... an induction (seafoam or B-12) cleaning might have the same cleaning effect. I'm not familiar with B-12, but I'm impressed how quickly it does its job.
@RICKAFIX8 жыл бұрын
+Thomas EXOVCDS yup love the B-12 I guess it is illegal in Canada maybe you me and steve can start up the ole moonshine running team together and get some up there

could that dirt be carbon from the anti pollution gear ( EGR ) , the fuel is injected into the inlet and so is the exhaust or engine oil gas , i dont think a carb needs to be cleaned that often

Can bad/clogged fuel injectors keep your car from cold starting? I have a 97 jeep grand cherokee and it only starts in hot weather (turns over, no start). I've tried everything! My guess is that the heat from the sun causes the gas to fumigate just enough to start the engine... I dunno; it just makes the injectors look suspect. What do you think???
@stephenwgreen787 жыл бұрын
The Invisible Man could be a lot of things, but you could check for leaky injectors (into the cylinder). It would probably be multiple if that's the problem because an engine will usually start up if only one cylinder isn't working. Should also check fuel pump & pressure regulator. If you've ruled out spark/air delivery....if it runs when warm you definitely have spark though & if air was blocked you would have rough idle when it started. Also check oil pressure & oil (right type/enough/not sludged up & that you actually have flow to the heads). Good luck & have fun with it. If all these check out a leak down test/compression test would be next.

+stgreen78 . It turned out to be the notorious "PCM malfunction " that jeeps are famous for. I had a shade tree mechanic with a soldering iron to fix the short in the computer and strapped the harnesses tight with large zip ties(still gonna get new harnesses though). It runs like a top now. Haven't had anymore problems. Thanks for the tips though; I'll keep them in mind next time another problem arises.

@BigWood31315 жыл бұрын
Absolutely do not clean injectors more than 50-100 k miles. Every time you take your injectors out you are risking other issues. Change your fuel filter yearly and when you clean your injectors every few years then Remove the - ring and spray the injectors off first before you soak them and cycle them. This guy has too much time and is looking for work.

This is a waist of time if your not having any issue as far as a clogged injector. Even then it doesn't always work injectors wear out like any other part eventually.
