Great video! Sorry you cooked your engine! Neat driver footage of your run.! I missed this event & the last few years at 131 dragway. I've been going there since the early 70's. ! and used to help with a couple of cars at the track. The track sure has changed over the years, but for the better.! Thanks for posting this. !

Really cool seeing an early engine still going strong . I noticed the valve cover spacers , probably required for aftermarket rockers I'm guessing.

Does your commander know of your "high-risk" activities while off-duty? I kid, many of the guys I flew with raced as well, but none in TF Nostalgia. I bet the P&W F135-PW-100 is a kick in the pants, but you have a much bigger kick in the pants with the dragster. Then again, you can pull a lot more Gs in the F-35. Bummer of a weekend by nice that you got a personal best.

Ha! Yea, videos like this don’t help my case much for explaining how “safe” it is. But it’s just too much fun!

Is gearing an issue (too low) for you guys? I have watched a lot of nostalgia racing at Famoso over the years and the TF class (vs Funnies) has really dwindled. Have heard that the short tire and mandated minimum rear gear makes the TF cars rpm too high resulting in more engine failures and therefore way higher operating costs vs the funny cars.

These motors do sing. 10.5k through the lights is hard on them for sure. I don’t think it’s a rules problem though. I like the rules and the class a lot. Really it’s a performance thing and drag racing standard. Need the car to leave hard and be quick early on. Which means top end is going to be pushing it. But guys have figured it out before us and we’re getting close to being able to do the same. The high cost really has to do with supply chain and fuel costs more than anything. Parts are hard to get and costs are soaring. Despite that the class it surging aggressively in the Midwest, especially with the Extreme Top Fuel guys. I think you’ll see it start growing again.

Just because the motor is in front doesnt make it nostalgia....nothing personal but guys like you have riuned what nostalgia AA/FD was all about...same goes for F/C and fuel altered and I'm not the only guy that feels this way.....you guys could have sacrificed peformance kept the cars in the high 6's mid 7 second area, built a safe car including breather masks but, kept the nostslgia intact with less breakage, no computers or throttle stops and no big ugly canard wings. This is how it was in the 90's and early 2000
