Just a recommendation, using manual focus might seem annoying but if you can get it just right it will benefit in the outcome of your videos. The auto focus while moving can be a pain to look at.

Yea the display that tells you what zoom you are gets less accurate the farther in you zoom and it skips over those #'s.

Also, using image stabilization while recording video and adjusting the zoom is what causes the weird bubble distortions.

Using Fuji HS25 already half a year is a good instrument for its price. Works the same way, as shown in this clip. In the application of universal for the Amateur.

Maybe you should try the image stabilization test with a subwoofer excursion. Try to do a video, and see if the woofer looks very wobbly, and then the other test should have the woofer excursion perfectly fast? Just a thought because i think i see a little bit of the difference but not too sure if that's the case.

Nice pictures... Just one comment regarding image stabilization... Shaking the camera isn't the same as walking with it. That's how we can check if the IS is good, you know? But thanks a lot, the pictures help us to choose the camera...

Image stabilization is when shooting from hands, especially, when zooming, and making shots, so this preview is not, what I expected and need about this camera. As well as Manual focusing process to make photos. So, my credits 3/5.

GREAT VIDEO DUDE. I have this same camera EXR HS-25 with an extra Macro lens. But I need an extra zoom lens to extend the zooming capacity. Can you suggest the best one. Thankz n Regards.

Your review is great except for one little item. I suspect you don't have a lot of experience with shooting at extreme zoom with out a tripod or using a tripod on a bleachers foundation that is moving around. The test of how stable a camera image stays is not based on how much you can move it around, but on how steady the image is when using the camera in these modes I mention. I do a lot of photography in these situations where a tripod is not practical or at sporting events.

Hey, not bad for a first review. I am strongly considering to purchase this camera after using a Fuji Finepix S5700 for the last 5 years which would be a big upgrade. One of my biggest gripes is the manual focusing lens which apparently is quite difficult to get a slow and steady zoom for fluid video. Your zooming technique seems alright though and the AF worked well. Did you find that after some practice and getting a 'feel' for the manual zoom you got better at using it, especially for video?

In my opinion, a manual zooming lens is one of the best things about this camera. It's great for taking pictures of wild life.

autofocus in pictures is fine, not video though according to this video. manual focus isn't too bad i guess.

Manual focus in all video. (when using any camera that offers it.) AF is OK for stills because you can't see the camera "hunt" for correct focus. This "hunting" is annoying in moving pictures.
