Fujifilm X-S20 Review | Unbeatable Value Despite a Few Cons

I discovered the X-S20 six months ago - and it is the best video camera I have ever owned. I film walking tours for KZbin and am amazed at the quality I get. Even after conversion by KZbin, the dynamic range is excellent!

I bought the X-S20 as soon as it came out and mostly use it for wildlife photography with manual shutter and aperture along with auto ISO. With the 70-300mm lens and 1.4X teleconverter it makes a good lightweight system. It is a the best camera that I have ever used.

Is the screen protector, almost for sure. I had the same problem years ago with the XT200. As soon as you remove it… done. Agree with ‘Eterna is fine’. Life is too short to shoot in FLog!

Waiting on this camera to be delivered soon. It will be my first Fujifilm camera as I’m mainly a Sony shooter. Decided on the X-S20 as it has 6.2K open gate function. But I’m looking forward to trying it as a photography camera also 😊

Love finding small channels like mine that also love fujifilm . I'm using the Xh2s and the X-S20. Both are awesome . I came from the X-S10 and the X-T4 . The AF is much better in ny current kit vs my previos kit.

I am also running a X-T5 and X-S20 combo at the moment (plus my beloved X-E3 which I will never sell). I like having the option of two cameras that offer different handling and megapixels, but the same Fuji files. I'm also still trying to tweak the AF settings, so looking forward to your video on that topic.

@@JackieDElia I love the form factor of the X-E3 and it pairs with my 35mm f1.4 beautifully. I also think that 24mp sensor might be my favourite of the Fujis so far - again it pairs with the 35mm 1.4 beautifully. It’s also a lot of sentiment, as that camera was my daily carry for quite a while and captured some favourite images.

Just checked my X-S20 LCD and it sits flush against the back when folded, with no play or movement. I use glass screen protectors on my cameras, which aren't very bulky.

Probably no more than 30 minutes at a time actual recording. I’ve only used it indoors so far so I’m not sure about overheating outdoors and warmer weather. But I haven’t received any overheating warning so far.

All the exact same reasons why i love the XS20. The battery and no IBIS on the xt3 killed me. Never really liked that one.

How is the autofocus on this?

It was better on earlier versions of the firmware. It is still usable. I use single point focus most of the time. I haven’t used this camera for photography, it’s in the studio for recording the KZbin videos on a tripod.

I don’t use the built in mic on either, but that is something to check. Why do you ask?

@dominikkulas3038 ok, I see. For my own personal opinion, I don’t think any of the internal mics sound good at all on either of the cameras I have. The microphone on my iPhone works much better.
