anyone who shoots log, please please please use your histogram/waveform for exposing. do not go by the screen. as someone who color grades its so annoying when people send me log footage that clearly isn't exposed right

Does the xs20 have a dual gain iso in flog and flog2 like it's big brother xh2s? For example the xh2s cleans up the image at iso 3200 when using flog2 profile While in flog 1 it cleans up the image at iso 2000 Can anyone confirm this on the xs20?

Hello! Thank you so much for the info! can i use your depth luts with this method? I just bought them. I'm not sure what method to use if i shot in F LOG 2. I have the XH2s 1.Apply the F-LOG to eterna and then apply the REC 709 depth LUT at the end of my color grading. 2.Use DaVinci Color Management and apply the RCM depth LUT . But here i have for the input color space only F-LOG, not F LOG 2. Should i choose another log profile for the input? I would say using RCM is the best but im a little confused with the input color space. A little help from you would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Both works, for FLOG2, either use Arri Log C3 or FLOG2 in Resolve 19.

Great video - just watched it for the 2nd time. I'm a newbie to the Fujifilm world and are recently struggling to identify which settings I have used with my X-S20 once I've transferred the video files to my laptop. In the property tab I can only identify the aspect ratio and video format but not whether I've used F-Log or F-Log 2. On top I can't view my ISO, Aperture or Shutter Speed settings for the video files on my laptop. Do you have any suggestions how I can identify my settings retrospectively (in order to apply the correct conversion LUTs)? I guess there might be a setting somewhere in the camera to change the file name and hopefully include the settings in there

There is no way in the metadata. Just always shoot FLOG2. There is no reason to shoot FLOG1.

Hi Pascal, that's great looking footage! Is it difficult to achieve such cinematic look using native grading or other LUTs, without filmconvert? It looks like a nice tool but I'd like to keep the plugin dependency to a minimum.

From what I pick up, as far as exposing for FLOG2 is just have FLOG view assist on, if it looks good on screen you're good to go ( and obviously ND due to the high ISO if needed). Is it really that simple? Just asking!

For most shots yes, if it’s not in low light.

Not sure if it works with any nd. They sell it as a kit, I don’t know if you can get the single filter as well. Best to check on their website.

Do you use the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 for this video? There are these small point flares on that lens that I hate. For photography it works great, because it's easy to remove, but for video...

So i shot a few videos at night and whenever I try to convert my videos or apply a lut it gets really dark and the colors are really off... maybe someone can help me out :/

The zebras on Fuji are not good is just a understatement. They work not in flog2 when zebras > 85% are set ... they show no overexposing anymore...thank you Fuji!

I think that’s not about the zebras but that FLOG 2 probably clips at 85%. That’s quite normal for log profiles. They could improve how the zebras work overall though.

With Eterna, you don’t need a conversion LUT but also can’t color grade the footage as much as with FLOG/FLOG2.
