So glad I found Pal2Tech! He’s so helpful. Gerald Undone also does two great videos on picture profiles, log shooting / ISO settings and dynamic range, etc. -not promoting a different brand! But his slant is more on the intellectual (I think Gerald freely admits ‘geek’) side of the process. And is also very helpful on getting my head around the whole thing. Thank you Pal2Tech!

Hi I'm happy I get to comment early for once! I had a really silly idea some days ago, when a lot of reviewers complained about the minimum focus distance of the Viltrox lenses. Would you consider testing a setup including some extension tubes and see if that makes them more apt for semi-macro or even portrait photography ? I guess in short, could you test how much it limits longer distance focusing? Am I sadly not able to buy a camera yet, at least not the XT-4, that I've been lusting over, but maybe you could ? All the best and thanks for making quarantine so much more enjoyable!

I love your tutorials and the way you explain things! I learn something new about my Fuji X-T3 every single time lol. Thank you so much for always putting out amazing content. Since I'm still a bit of an amateur, I've been looking at online courses to take in photography and videography but they all seem so gimmicky like Fulltime Filmmaker and the ones on Udemy. Would you be able to recommend any online courses or books that are thorough and technical? I love learning the technical aspects as well to give me a better understanding of not just how things work, but why. The first thing I want to learn is how to colour grade like a professional and truly understand how all the tools work which I still find are a bit abstract despite looking at various KZbin guides.

I'm a still photographer, but I still watched. My head kind of exploded. A question you touched on related to stills: can you explain when and why one would choose sRGB vs. Adobe RGB?
@mike-ls1bl4 жыл бұрын
Just my opinion, but 99% of the time you're going to want to use sRGB. Most computers, phones, etc, all kind of use sRGB as the assumed colour space. If you try to load up an Adobe RGB shot on your aunt's computer it's gonna look like crap. Unless you're sharing with ppl with calibrated monitors or folks who know what Adobe RGB is and have a reason to be using it, you always want to use sRGB. Printing is a special case as the Adobe RGB gamut is bigger and some print shops will be able to use that. But even then, most places use sRGB. If you're not printing at home, just ask who does your prints what they would recommend your settings be and they'll tell you what's best. The place I print at recommends sRGB and a monitor brightness of 100cd/m2.
