I've used my x-t5 so heavily over the past year that "used" would be an understatement. Fortunately, I haven't had any issues. I love this work horse (although I do use the xtra grip). Instead of a spare battery, I port a power supply. My only real frustration is that on the rare occasion I need a second body, I get frustrated switching between the X-t5 and x-t3 because of the settings differences. Shooting a lot of low light very high iso b&w / using DXO to reduce it nicely. You are so right about the power of using a camera that you enjoy using…

I don’t personally own xt5 but when I had a chance to handle it in a shop my first impression wasn’t too good when it comes to build quality. I use Xt2 and Xt4 and by far xt2 feels best.

I agree with you on the X-T2. I have the XT30 Mark II but tend to use the X-T2. The latter is so well made and I have been able to take some very pleasing photos with it. I haven’t a desire to upgrade.

Same problem here with the whobbly screen which I had fixed by Fujifilm within seven weeks. Despite some build quality tradeoff this is my favourite Fuji camera so far, so much fun to use, great in the hand and beautiful files coming out of it.

@@AndreiDimaReviews I had the repair done through my local photography store and they ship it to Fujifilm, which is why it takes that long. Especially for professionals it’s too long, I had to shoot a wedding on a Fuji X-T30 in the meantime😆

I think a lot of the build quality issues were first run issues for that production run. All of the issues seem to be resolved in more recent production lots.

@@xJasterx You are probably right! In my case they had to replace the entire screen unit and the bottom plate (no clue why) suggesting that certain camera parts had quality compromises. I‘m happy it‘s resolved but would I have known how much time it takes I would just have kept it the way it was…

I only have a X-T30 but my front dial dial has also been giving me problems occasionally, not switching values properly. It was an easy fix - I sprayed just a tiny bit of WD-40 in the crack between the dial and the body, and rotated it for a few seconds so the liquid is distributed well. That should fix it for you as well.

I'm similar. I used the hefty 16-55mm all summer but now use a 33mm f1.4 for winter :) Its 33mm (50mm equivalent) focal length is quite challenging but I like having to work a bit harder for 'good' pictures than dramatic wide pictures or simple zoomed-in portrait ones.

I am positive because everything else is great! I love the image quality, dynamic range, colors, and video features. There is a possibility that only some cameras have problems. Mine was from the first batch released, and sometimes, these cameras have quality control issues. Aside from the paint and dials, the rest of the camera is well-built.

Try spraying electrical contact cleaner in that dial. The issue that you demonstrated at 1:16 looks like it might be oxidation on the microswitch that is actuated by turning the dial. I had a similar issue on a used X-T3 that I purchased a few years ago.

Hey Andrei, did your camera's SD card door have some sort of flex and squeak to it when pushed inward? Not sure if it's normal, but it makes sense that it would be if the rubber seals are just rubbing together. The inward flex also makes sense since the spring is just naturally trying to push the door outward, creating an inconspicuous gap. Cheers.

It's funny how many Fujifilm photographers also have or either still shoot Nikon alongside it. It seems like it's an unspoken rule that we must all do so haha. My first Fujifilm mirrorless was the X-T1 (maybe 4-5 years ago) and I've had the 2,3 4, 5 and H1 in that time period. I didn't like the 4 so I sold it very quickly, but the others I liked a lot. The X-T1 replaced the D700 as my favorite camera of all time, and I'll never sell it, ever. I still have the X-T3 and X-T5 now. My first Nikon was the D1h, and I've always had some body from them since then. I still have (and shoot sometimes) a D2X, D2Hs, and D200. I sold my D850 and D810......but there is some regret and I want another one haha. Not because Fujifilm doesn't give me what I need, because it absolutely does...but because I really loved those two bodies and still like DSLR cameras haha.

I never use the dials for video on my X-T5. I separate out the video and photography functions so the dials are used for photography and the wheels used for video. But furthermore - I mainly use the custom settings though. And I have 7 for photography + 7 for video so 14 in total. It is literally the easiest and most fun camera I have ever used.

This is my very first X-T camera and I wish it had the same build quality of the older models. But still knowing this I went ahead ans bought it. This is my very first brand new camera. For the price you get dual card slots, IBIS, weather sealing and the amazing Film Sims, without taking into account the analog-esque experience of the dials. I have not even started to check on the video capabilities but its has some impressive specs too in that area. I have 0 regrets but I surely hope not to encounter that shutter dial bug on my copy.
