Spending the afternoon around the City of London (near St. Paul's Cathedral, Bank of England and Liverpool Street) with the Fujifilm X100F.
I always love exploring an area with my camera and I'm always on the hunt for a great shot. Sometimes they happen, other times not so much. On this occasion, I thought the day was going to be a flop but got treated with an absolutely EPIC sunset to seal the day!

When you use the camera in optical mode, do you have problems with parallax error on close up shots because the viewfinder is not in line with the lens? (I am assuming that in evf mode you are shooting through the lens, so that would correct that in that mode).

This is my home town too and I go out most weekends doing much the same as you Joe, but probably not so well. I love seeing other folks videos, pics and views of London. As you have demonstrated there are some great buildings in London and the climb up The Monument is well worth it for the view and congrats on doing all those steps and getting the certificate. I would also love to see you doing some videos of the markets such as Borough Market, Portobello Road Market, Brick Lane Market, Leadenhall Market, Royal Arcade, Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly Arcade, East Street Market and the Nag's Head Market. And Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Thanks! The titles are a custom design and template that I personally created in After Effects. I learnt about the technique from Googling for randomised text. Hopefully you'll find something that fits your own design and requirement too!

Yep! All photos with the X100F; the lens is just small enough to squeeze through the fencing at the top of Monument, which is very useful!

Thank you for your answer, Joe. Once I was on top of this building I had to shoot with my mobile because my Nikon lens was too big to squeeze through the fencing. I guess my Fuji XF 23 F2 will not be bigger than the 23 on the X100F - so next time in London I will do the steps again...

Thanks for the videos. Found you by looking for reviews of the x100f which I'm leaning towards buying. The sights of London take me back 2.5 years ago when I visited with my family. The Cathedral was the one thing I wanted to go see and my daughter and I got to walk to the top. Amazing place.

Hey Joe, great video. I've been to London many times but never climbed Monument. It's now on my bucket list. How did you get around the fencing for your shots?

Yeah monument is a hidden gem, that most Londoners aren’t really aware of. I sort of squeezed my lens through the fencing and made sure it didn’t show up in frame on the X100F. Luckily the lens is small enough for it to work. As for the GH5, I had to zoom past the fencing to make sure it wasn’t in shot.

I'll stick with my X Pro 1. I did work with the X100 Limited Edition and loved it, but my 35 1.4 really is the bees knees. Thank you Fuji.

Ah yeah, beyond my X100F, 35mm is probably my favourite focal length to shoot at! Though I'm more a fan of the F2 as it's got faster focusing and weather sealing, but still a super-wide aperture.

I was going to swap out for the F2 version but hey, I have never had problems with slower focussing so I kept it. The F2 is nice though and yes, it is mega fast, almost scarily so. lol

Good night shots. The Fuji is excellent at capturing that. I'll make a note to visit the Monument. London has so much to offer for street but it is a long slog to get around, even with the tube.

Cheers! Yeah it can be very tiring walking around London. Oftentimes though, using the tube can actually be more exhausting because of all the stairs for what are often relatively short distances that probably could have been walked.

Yeah the views are pretty great, but the mesh is rather tight. I was lucky with the X100F lens as it's fairly small, though I still had to kind of wedge it between the wires. With the GH5 I had to zoom past the fencing as the lens is much bigger.
