Great vid. I really liked the animations. Is there any chance you can ask Fujifilm to enable the ND filter for video, and if they could add electronic stabilization to the camera for video?
@SethKHughes5 жыл бұрын
Thoren Thanks Thoren. Yes, I will pass that on. I agree, the ND filter for video needs to happen.

Thank you for watching Andrew. I’ll try and make that happen. I would love to make that video among many others. Trying to carve out some sabbatical time like one of my favorite KZbinrs. 😉

I shot 90% of it with the X-T3 + 10-24mm. Also the Weebill S gimbal.

I got Xpro 3 do you think X100V is a better choice for photojournalism and street?
@SethKHughes5 жыл бұрын
No, it’s not necessarily better. Just smaller, more minimalist, with a different LCD setup and a fixed focal length. Camera form factor is such a personal preference so “better” can only be defined by you. Which is why I recommend that folks rent or borrow.

It's crazy that they don't allow the nd filter to work with video...
@SethKHughes5 жыл бұрын
I need to do some digging and figure why that is. Seems like a missed opportunity for sure.

@myreal2ndchannel9995 жыл бұрын
hey seth. i read on the website, one of the features is double exposure. Have you ever tried it?
@SethKHughes5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that’s definitely a fun feature! And the camera will save the RAW files independently too which is really great. Jonas Rask has some excellent examples on his blog post here... jonasraskphotography.com/2020/02/04/fujifilm-x100v-first-look-preview-the-desert-island-camera/

Is it for me if I shoot with my 28mm iPhone and sometime need wider for indoor and tight space? Should I get it and learn to make use of it or get Leica D Lux 7(24-70mm)?

Anyone one know if the lens hood and adapter from a F will fit? Does the colour match? Looks like a different colour and Fuji is famous for their many shades of silver.
@SethKHughes4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the F adapters are forward compatible. I'm not as certain about the color shades.

I wonder why Fuji would send you pre production products when your subscriber base is below 5K. No offense to you personally, I looked at your portfolio and you make amazing images.

You answered your own question , it’s not about subscribers it’s about his talent.

Not good for video? With external 10 bit 4.2.2 output? You simply can't be serious.
@SethKHughes5 жыл бұрын
Hey Greg, yes, I’m serious but I suppose it depends on your definition of a good video camera. The X100V would do well for run and gun content but with very limited focal lengths, no dedicated headphone jack, no 4K 60p, a micro-hdmi port, it’s just not ideal. To your point, Fujifilm added the bonus ability to output a high quality video file but keep in mind 4:2:2 doesn’t come without building up a rig and adding a $700 external recorder. Something I can’t imagine many people would ever do with this camera. Quite honestly I can’t recommend it for serious video shooters because that’s not what it’s designed for.
@marcd73325 жыл бұрын
You can get the bmpcc 4k for less, the x100v is not a video camera and no one will buy it for video, just a nice feature to have.
@TheOutdoorsStation4 жыл бұрын
Different people have different needs and experience. I disagree and think this is the perfect camera for remote long distance hikers and travelers. Weather resistant, charges from usb, provides excellent photo and video, low profile and weight, mic input. Aside from the ND filters not available for video, it is pretty damn close for people with those needs. 4K produces bigger files and requires more editing hardware. So I think this review indicates a narrow viewpoint of its potential uses. That ND missing filter for video sucks big time though.
