Really nice video Hannah- I also watched the NYC one too. I shot Fuji for years and especially loved the GFX50R and the X100v but sold all of the stuff when I moved to Sony for weddings. I then picked up a Leica Q2 as ‘my camera’ and fell in love with that. Then the X100vi came along, I got caught up in the hype and managed to get one on launch day, and sold the Q2 and had the idea of using the Vi as my camera- but after using the Leica I couldn’t go back to it, and sold it two weeks later, and got a Leica Q3 which I adore. I know there’s a huge price difference but people compare them all the time eh. I do wish at times I still had one for the sheer size of it, and love seeing videos like yours- keep making them!

The KZbin 'algorithm' dropped me here, great insight. I've been using a Fujifilm X30 and have similar feeling about that camera. It is 12 years old, and 12mp, but is slightly smaller, has a tiny manual 28-112mm zoom, tilt screen and EVF. Great little camera even though it is only a 2/3 sensor, often I mistake the images for those taken with my 24mp X-S20.

What a fantastic summary -- thank you for sharing your experience! As a long-time Fuji user who only [finally] was able to get my hands on an X100vi, I can't want to start traveling with it. I've done short day trips, but Disneyland is coming up and I'm excited to *only* use this. (as it stands since my X100vi arrived in Dec, I've basically stopped using my Pixel for photos! 😆)

I love my X100VI, have used the X100 series for years. The latest firmware, 1.20, has improved AF but I’m yet to test it properly. This might help

I'm currently in Thailand with my X100-F and my tablet. As you said, the ease of use, colours and general feel of the fuji is a joy. Great video and happy transition into your new place.

How much did you cool it for the AWB?

I have the X100 VI in use together wit the a7Cii and the AF and file quality of the sony is much better.Film experience in JPEG is a pro for fuji of course.

You mention large file size from the Fuji, was it noticably different to your Sony 33mp FF files ?

One nice thing about Fuji is the noise looks like film grain so even though it’s not full frame it looks good to me in lower light. I’m mostly happy with mine but I might finally get a full frame with the A7V for somethings in the future

The camera is cool and hip, but to be honest i rather chose the xt30ii , similar size, all the cool recipes, but with the ability to switch out lenses for different occasions. For the price of VI i got the body with 4 different lenses(ranges 15 to 300mm) and still had some left over for all the acessories.

Great video! I recently got my X100vi and I’m loving it so far. While the user interface has been a bit challenging at times, I can’t stop using this camera every day. However, I also find the autofocus to be a challenge. Nevertheless, I’ll have to make the most of what the camera can offer while shooting with it.

Nice! It’s pretty awesome. Are you using a recipe? Thanks for watching 😊

Yes, Reggie’s portra, and pacific blue with a slight tweak to make it cooler. I also got the ilford HP5 recipe as well.

Do you prefer the x100vi or a7cii/r with the 40mm f2.5 g?

Couldn’t say. Love them both 😉

Fantastic! Really pleased to hear you are enjoying the Fuji. They do take some getting used to, but once you have it set up your way it'll all feel like second nature. I've used X100 cameras for around five years now and had my X100VI for almost a year (I was able to snag one as soon as they came out 🥳) and would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. Regarding the autofocus - whilst it may not be the absolute fastest, I find it's more than fast enough for the type of photography I use mine for (travel and everyday stuff). It can be a bit jarring when coming from my Canon R3, but I like that it slows me down and forces me to take my time. I almost exclusively use single point focus and have configured the rear command dial to be my back button focus. Recipies wise I also use Reggie's Portra, but I recently discoverd a Kodachrome 64 recipe on FujiX Weekly and and currently loving that. I also use a few different black & white recipies I got from Kevin Mullins. I have a black mist filter on pretty much all of time. I use a 5% filter as I want it to be subtle, but just enough to soften things slighty, as I find the new sensor in the X100VI can a bit too clinical and digital for my liking. Finally, if you haven't tried it yet the Fuji X app on the phone is great and can erally speed up getting images off the camera when you are out and about (ideal to download some images whilst grabbing a coffee for example). Means you don't have to wait until you get back to base, or carry around a laptop/tablet.
