Nice video, around minute marker 7:18, the scans, did you re-arrange the order in the app before saving? if yes, that is an excellent feature.

I have always been extremely impressed by the Fujitsu scanners. If you want another Fujitsu scanner model to do a review on, I would highly recommend doing a review on the FI-800R. The reason for this is because: 1. It has a much MUCH smaller footprint. Both scanners have the same width, but the 800r has a depth of 4.1in vs. the 8170 at 6.7in (which doesn't include the hopper and output tray), and the 800r is only 3.3in high vs. the 8170 at 6.4in high. 2. It has the capability to handle all of the same documents that the 8170 can, but that it can also scan in passports (which for towns with heavy international patients is a must). 3. Instead of having to have the papers flow out to a receiving tray in front of you, the documents go into the machine and then circle back up to the receiver tray which is a automated (up and down) piece back on the top of the device. There are a couple of downfalls that I have found with the 800r model. 1. It still requires a power cord and isn't able to be truly powered by the PC. 2. The rollers that are in used on the bottom feeder in the middle aren't well positioned in the front. What I mean by this is you have [roller][gap][roller]. This means that if someone were you put card or piece of paper into the bottom feeder but to put the corner between the two rollers, then it will never pull in the item. The same goes for the back and thus it is possible that the item (especially drivers license style/shape/size cards) could fall out the back and not be pulled back forward. 3. There is no deskew capabilities on the bottom feeder. So because of this, I don't recommend putting anything bigger than 5-6inches in width. If you do (i.e. 8.5 x 11 paper) and don't feed it perfectly straight, it will pull it in and will crinkle the edges and potentially rip and ruin the paper (which with medical papers could be a very bad thing). 4. After you open up the inside for maintenance, when you go and push it back down to close it, that is fine, but the automated received that comes up and goes down as stated in the benefits of #3 above doesn't re-seat itself back down. The only way that I have found to trigger this re-seating is to do a scan with the document through the top. (NOTE: This could easily be fixed through a firmware upgrade.) 5. The last item that I have noted is that when you insert an item into the bottom feeder, it will pre-feed it so that you don't have to just hold it there. However, there is no way to have it "un"-pre-feed it. Other than the 5 few downfalls, the device itself is really amazing!

I am wondering if the the scansnap software is used with this unit and if It also interfaces with EVERNOTE . I was also wondering if it is using the Scansnap home exclusively like say the IX1600
