Appreciate your video. Astonished you have not watched Money Game 3 video - its a piece of theatre and the performance is essential. Almost unsubbed when you said you don't get Genesis - its one of Ren's quintessential songs, and it will be tough to take your insight on anything if you don't get this. Black Pegasus did a fantastic fan rip off of this track that was a great giggle. Genesis and Power are still top of my play lists. I've been a performer, a Studio Tech and an audiophile for the 40 years of my life as an adult. Ren is a generational talent that I feel lucky to have found. I literally cried tears of joy, when he hit no1!

Sony didnt drop Ren. Rens illness got in his way to perform so he quit and Sony released him from his contract and let him keep all his songs. Ren has no ill will towards Sony...quite the opposite he feels like he let them down and never fulfilled his end of the deal they made.

The split with Sony was mutual as Ren knew he was unable to work for the foreseeable. Genesis conversely is by far my favourite track - one for the ages…. The spoken narration in Sick Boi was from a friend - the girlfriend of his band’s drummer.

Subscribed! I just looked through your Ren reactions and you haven't done my favourite Ren song. I, like Ren, have dealt with chronic pain for decades (TMI - the female kind) and I am just entering the next phase of my life at 49, and getting 90% relief for the first time in my life, since I was a teenager. The dark side of Ren is therapeutic for me. It brings validation. So when I heard the fun and cheeky side of Ren in Losing It (original EDM beat by Fisher), I just loved it. Nice breakdown mate. Enjoyed that. Genesis will grow on you, especially that hook, and Money Game Part 3 is definitely best experienced with the video. The audio track on the video is better in my opinion and the overall performance and production adds a lot.

@@marcandrewsingerofficial I second this - I'm in the same boat as you (probably close to the same age as well). Genesis did not grab me for probably the first 20 times I heard it. I specifically watched a lot of reaction videos just to see what the hype was, and everyone seemed to just love it. Then I left it alone for a while, and when I came back to it - wham! One of my favorite Ren songs now. I can't explain it, but I'm certainly glad I didn't give up on it!

Ren's not signed to a label. He's just releasing through them. He's multi-talented but not even Ren can press thousands of vinyl copies, ditto tapes and cds, in his bedroom. :)

Genesis is all about the lyrics and wordplay. His story told cleverly and poetically. Mind you, you could say the same for every Ren song, I suppose, lol. He's just too good! Btw, the part that everybody thinks is a sample is actually Ren, just twisted a bit. In the live acoustic version he replicates it brilliantly! :) Having said that, I do partly agree with you. It's still a good song but it's far from his best. I think the same about Animal Flow tbh. Both are a bit overhyped by the fans, imho. Both great tracks but nowhere near his best. At least 3 of the new tracks, Sick Boi 2, Uninvited and Seven Sins are far better tracks. As is most of his catalogue tbh. :)
