I like this guy. I'm 57, started high intensity two years ago, my workouts get shorter and less frequent. I've had great results and put on some hard muscle. I'm not competing, just trying to stay strong and flexible going into old age.

Training two times a week is working great for right now. I’ll ride it out until it doesn’t work anymore but so far so good.

I'm 63 years young. I work out high intensity approx every 3 or 4 days, about twice a week basically. Squat, bench, deadlift is one workout. 2nd work out is more isolation workout for entire body again. Rest, recuperating, and nutrition very important for my age. Enjoy your channel.

I state this time and time again to my viewers. High intensity training is the best way to train when you’re looking at bang for buck. There is no style that gives you anywhere near the return that one hard set to failure can provide. Why start adding multiple sets when the additional benefit would be so marginal over that one initial set - especially when time sensitive

I love working out , I started when I was 12 I’m 67 now. But I realize as you get older it’s best to do less sets and have less workout days. I like three days a week on a rotating split . Great video Kenny

At 70yrs old and starting when I was 13yrs old I've through my share of just about everything from working out at the old Duncan YMCA to the old Tucson Health Studio owned by Carlos Rodriguez. Trained with natural extremely strong guys and guys who were a walking pharmacy. We are all different and as we age time really makes its point to us. I have a nice hardcore setup in my garage that I absolutely LOVE. But one body part per week worked extremely hard is perfect for me. Recovery is the key and its easy to overdo it. I'm 6'3" 245lbs and I try to stay slim but muscular. Time brings about a change for everyone who can continue to sat good morning every day. 👍

Great video with some solid advice. You got to love a bloke who has his way of doing things that work really well but accepts other people have other ways as they have different needs, like the person with drug addiction and/or alcoholics who need to workout more frequently as a means of staying clean and sober.👍 I myself like 2 days a week for maximum recovery.

Any advice how to gain muscle for someone who enjoys going to the gym as often as possible and train for 60+ minutes a session? I feel it is hopeless for me to gain anything but friends at the gym.

Great interview! Did I hear correctly correctly that his sole lower body exercises are leg extensions, leg curls and calf raises?
@tomkiatipis3 ай бұрын
Yes, I had a serious tear of two of my adductor muscles in my left leg off the bone. The injury has yet to fully heal. I do what I can for now.
@marcvinyard30503 ай бұрын
@@tomkiatipis thank you for explanation. Were you able to maintain leg mass with leg ext/leg curl?
@tomkiatipis3 ай бұрын
@@marcvinyard3050I think so. The legs look decent but definitely off from a decade ago. I neglected to mention I also do adductor exercises with resistance bands to best rehab the injury.

I think in another 10 years the leg extension/curl machine will become accepted the way the Smith Machine is now no longer laughed at. Leg extensions explode my legs and bullet-proof my knees for sprinting.

There is just one problem with this methodology: you can not maintain it for long time. Immune system and CNS will breakdown. The perfect workout is that one you can maintain consistency.

Great interview, and that's the way to go when you get older - less workouts, more rest! However, no way you did 10 reps curling a 155-pound barbell, dude, not even if you cheated a little bit, hahaha! Maybe Ronnie Coleman would have done it, but as a natural BB, you can forget about it, no way!

2 days also allows for GPP or mini-home workouts! How can you train your neck, sprints, run, play a sport, etc while gymming 6 days a week? 2 days is perfect! Train calves, side delt, neck at home, do your sport work and still be recovered to progress at the gym
