The indoor unit of the aircon has been making an annoying noisy whistling sound for a long time.
An aircon was installed in 2016 in our home.
Now is the time to do a complete cleaning of the indoor unit as well as the replacement of the fan motor bearings.
- A new fan cost 202€
- Normally full cleaning work costs about 300€
- fan motor replacement work as extra work costs 70€ extra
- The total price would have been around 500 to 600€
- You can handle this all for 10€!!
- By replacing the bearings of the fan motor yourself
- By doing a complete cleaning of the indoor unit yourself!
- Personally, I have never done this before. But the result looks good!

Well done! I did this on one of my heat pumps about 3 years ago - the end result is so satisfying! Unfortunately I have just had to do it again due to the bearing noise returning. Apparently metal bearings in this type of application have a tendency to wear quite quickly due to the corrosive effects of stray electrical currents. I have used ceramic bearings this time which I'm hoping will last much better.

Thank you! 😊 I can say that the difference is really GREAT after replacing the bearings and cleaning the device. In the future, it will be easier to change the bearings and clean the device when you know how to do it.

Thanks so much for sharing this video! It has saved me a very expensive repair by professional technician. Though, I do not have the confidence and tools for soldering and replacing the bearing, so I have opted for replacing the fan motor. Around 200 euros in spare parts instead of 10, but I will anyway save the cleaning service which normally costs 200 euro as well...
