I live in Rovaniemi. It is interesting to see how it looks like through the eyes of turists.

What a charming experience 😍 reminds me of Christmas hallmark movies with the music! I kept cracking up about the reindeer hitting Jacob’s head 🤣🤣

Try your best to never get hit by a reindeer because it hurt a lot!

This looks like such a fun day! The reindeers were so cute. Your hands must have been freezing ice fishing!

Our hands were so cold we couldn't feel them anymore. They were numb and tingling lol

The thing about reindeer herding is that when the herders use an animal, they won't just use their leather and meat - antlers, bones, blood, even tendons, you name it and it will be used somehow. Absolutely nothing goes to waste of a reindeer, and reindeers are respected for that.
@JacobandJennyTravel2 жыл бұрын
That is great and very resourceful! Thanks for that information! And thank you so much for watching :)

And the reindeer is kind of cattle in Finland, not pets, for its owners. Of course there are some pet reindeer too but that’s different.
@Screwital4203 жыл бұрын
The thing you were feeding to the reindeer is actually lichen, not moss. Glad both of you were having a blast doing traditional Finnish stuff. Shame you didn't catch anything while icefishing and get a bit more footage of it, since it's my favourite winter activity. But hey that's fishing for ya! Merry Christmas :)
@JacobandJennyTravel3 жыл бұрын
Oh, that's interesting. They told us it was moss, but thanks for letting us know. We may have to go ice fishing again to see if we can catch anything! Merry Christmas to you too!

There is a lot of good places to visit in Lapland, 250km north of Rovaniemi is place called Saariselkä, excellent place to see Northern Lights etc.
@JacobandJennyTravel3 жыл бұрын
Saariselkä sounds like fun! We won't be able to make it up there this trip, but we'll keep that in mind if we plan to come back!

Hiya love your videos , just one question . Where do you do all the activities ? I might stay in a small hotel or air bnb in the town of Rovaniemi, so do u have any tips with getting good deals on the activities , snowmobile, husky sledging etc. Thankyou
@JacobandJennyTravel2 жыл бұрын
We are so glad you are enjoying them! Thank you for watching :) there are many different tour companies in Rovaniemi, they are all typically pretty pricey but here are a name of some companies we have used: Apukka, Wild About Lapland and Arctic Circle Wilderness resort. We hope this helps and you enjoy your time in Finland :)

Isn't it tradition everywhere to put mustard on a sausage? :)

We love putting mustard on our sausages, but I don't think everyone would do it. If you're not using mustard, you're doing missing out
