1 callorie means how much energy is needed to increase the temperature of 1kg of water with 1°C. Counting callories is dumb. A callorie is energy and energy weighs nothing. The food you eat is mass and it's the mass that has a weight. When your body breaks down the atoms that your food consists of you create heat/energy. A perfect example: water has 0 callories. Drink 1l of water and weigh yourself, you will be 1kg heavier. Then pee out the water and again weigh yourself, you will be 1kg lighter.

@tomlaskowski4562 жыл бұрын
I personally would take carbs into consideration. I don't adhere to a keto diet myself ,but having learned about it from Dr Berg , on KZbin, I would suggest the lower carbs will make it easier to shred fat if that's your concern.
@AoiZassoOFCL2 жыл бұрын
not really, the most important thing is caloric deficit and getting sufficient protein. carbs might actually be helpful because they're less calorie dense than fat. the reason things like keto work is because people on the keto diet don't end up eating the same amount of calories as they were beforehand
@suigetsu832 жыл бұрын
It depends on the individual's needs. If it works for you based on your daily activity and performance requirements. Yes, the caloric deficit is essential. Still, I believe you would eat less on a keto diet. Fat is more calorie dense, but it will not keep you full. The body's favorite energy source is mainly carbs, but in extreme circumstances can use fats and proteins as sources of energy.
@oooooba8343 Жыл бұрын
@@AoiZassoOFCL its still not just about calories dude, lower carbs are better for fat loss... the human body really isnt that simple
@sidsrivastava6987 Жыл бұрын
@@oooooba8343 Lower carbs really only make a difference if you're actually doing keto and put your body into ketosis. Then it's worth it. Otherwise, it won't make much of a difference if you have 50g of carbs vs 100g of carbs in a day. And a lot of fruits and vegetables have carbs so you can't really avoid carbs. That's why keto is super hard to maintain long-term and is not recommended. You also need carbs for energy if you're working out, which is important when cutting because otherwise you will lose a lot of muscle mass. Protein is more satiating than carbs, and you're more full on protein. That's why people say "lower carbs are better for fat loss", because cutting carbs down and replacing it with protein and fat helps people eat less. But you can lose weight eating a lot of carbs as well. Unless you're doing keto, and actually doing it to where your body goes into a state of ketosis, it doesn't matter how much carbs you eat as long as you're in a calorie deficit.

For a breakfast option with eggs, turkey can be bought in a ground form, like hamburger meat, and chicken can be mixed in with a bit of salsa for Southwestern style eggs. Red meat in general isn't that good for you for the amount of hidden nutritional problems. Also, fish is just (chef's kiss) perfect. It has the right types of fats and oils, and tons of proteins. In moderation it's ok, but there are much, MUCH more efficient sources of protein. Also from the tone of your rebuttal, it sounds like you're assuming a lot about me with ad hominem type arguments. Which furthers my point that you truly don't know. Since apparently it matters, I'm 6'0-6'1 and 250 pounds, only 20% body fat, still cutting weight from the pandemic pounds. I used to wrestle, and I used to be in law enforcement (Correctional Officer) both of which were following a lot of strength training. Even while heavier than I'd like to be, I'm still very much capable. More evidence that shows you don't know what you're talking about comes from the fact that you don't know how nutrition actually works. Protein is protein is protein. It doesn't matter if you get it from grazing down lentil beans or getting it from high cholesterol sources like steak. That's why there are such a thing as vegetarian bodybuilders, including from the 70's, now I like meats too much to give those up, but it exists. Cholesterol doesn't circulate your hormones as much as it causes high blood pressure and clogs up your arteries. What's also interesting is that your body actually produces all the cholesterol it needs for hormone circulation, and extraneous cholesterol from foods that isn't immediately circulated out, just builds plaque in your arteries. Conclusion: You're either trolling big time, or you're too prideful to admit your faults. There's literally nobody that can say eating all that cholesterol is good for you. There are much more efficient methods of getting protein without the risks of blood pressure issues and eventually coronary artery disease. Red meats are fine in very limited moderation. You mainly eat them because they taste good. Not because of the nutritional content.

Hey Jonathan! How many hours would you give between each meal for this low calorie diet? Great Content as always 😃
@AH-zz6ei3 жыл бұрын
I am not John but I would say that if you train hard, you have to have the most constant intake of nutrients during the day. The answer to your question depends on the number of meal during the day. Each 2 hours, 2.5 hours (the time that your body breakdown the nutrient of the meal) seams the best to me for a meal that is not very large. 1600 seems very low even for a girl...
@Masturbation653 жыл бұрын
@@AH-zz6ei Women are shorter and have less muscle mass and have a much lower TDEE. Based on her height and weight and activity level 1,600 might be a perfect amount of calories for slow and progressive weight loss. There's a subreddit called r/1200isplenty majority directed towards women due to their lower basal metabolic rate and 1,200cal being a reasonable 1lb/wk of fat loss calorie deficit if done correctly. Anyway, I do agree, however, that based on dietician and nutritionist input, that 2-3 hours between small meals seems to be the best for weight loss as it maintains metabolic function. I prefer to eat throughout the day as I become hungry to the extent that is reasonable.. By confusing your body via specific eating patterns you will cause a change in hunger hormones leptin and ghrelin. By restricting calories excessively and/or fasting you will get hit by ghrelin very hard in the beginning of your diet, especially during times where your body is used to being fed. By maintaining a meal plan that fits your body and schedule and isn't too restrictive you are giving your body the necessary time to adapt without excessive hormonal fluctuation that could be a hinderance to your diet while maintaining proper metabolic function. Anyway, as a female, check out reddit.com/r/1200isplenty/ to get a decent idea of what other low calorie diets you can follow for even faster weight loss.

it’s really just a numbers game. Workout the calories you need for the whole day and chose when you want to consume them. There’s no given time frame as that’s just a myth. Look at fasted diets and also if you had to eat every two to three hours what happens when your asleep for 8 hours. Jonathan actually says at the end of the video if you can hold back some of your calories you can treat yourself at the end of the day. There’s no science it’s simply calories in calories out .

Great advice of how to make this calorie deficit. By the way, it's good to give the beans instead of meat a try. With seasoning it'll taste amazing and healthier with a lot of protein in it too. Also, better prepare your own meat instead of already prepared as it's fast mass production. Better buy organic meat and prepare it at home. Just a little advice for those who have some extra time 😉 Great video, loved it. Thanks 👍

Something to keep in mind for us overweight, pre-diabetic, or diabetic folk: Some artificial sweeteners (a vital part of many low-calorie foods, which you can see on the labels in this video) may also spike your insulin levels (similar to real sugar) and may negatively impact your gut microbiome (vital in hormone production, among many other things). The verdict is still out on some of those things, but either way it might be a good idea to minimize the amount of added sugars AND artificial sweeteners you consume.

@@jselectronics8215 I don’t think he said, unfortunately. But probably very low, since most of the typical carb sources were replaced with veg or artificial sweeteners. Hope you find a lifestyle that works for you! Finding something you can actually stick to every day is the hardest part

I am not a bodybuilder but train a lot. In the past my diet was bad. I gained weight and was a strong fat small guy. I joined a Slimming World group. This operated off the same principles as you are talking about. The aim was to eat good volume of good food with high satiety and low calorie. This approach works. Like here it is nutritionally sound and simple.No fads. No starvation. In fact I was eating more. The yogurt and berries is a great one for breakfast and/or desserts.

For the frozen fruits, run them under warm or hot water for a moment using a strainer. Perfect for getting the frost off easy and makes them much more edible.

I'm using whey protein daily, x4 scoops, to make sure I'm hitting a good protein level (around 185g/day) but need to hold back the hunger whilst dropping calories. Really insightful video and was really explained well. Just saw this on my FYP and it really helped me get a clear picture or idea of the amount and quantity for each meal. Wasn't sold on 1600 calories at first since I couldnt fathom fitting 185g of protein in 1600 calories without purely eating a lot of chicken breast, eggs, and double scooping protein powder. Tried cutting back on calories after my bulk before and was pretty disappointed with the results and how bland, stale, and boring it got trying to meal prep and fit as much protein for as low calories as possible. Just realized that I tend to overshoot or undershoot the amount of calories/protein with the amount per serving since I could never get a clear picture/info on how much calories & protein are in most food sources available in my country. Lean cuts of meat and low calorie alternatives tend to be unavailable or pricey in my country so it doesn't leave me with much options but I'm starting to consider investing in them despite the higher prices since it would only be more costly in the long run if I try to ignore them and see suboptimal results. Anyways, really informative video and gave me a good visual on how much food I can eat per day and still hit the needed grams of protein without having to fully up my calories and eat a shit-ton of the same food 7x days a week. Liked & Subbed :)
