I watched all of this season glued to my 14 inch colour TV as a 17 year old. I then went to the NEC motorcycle show that year to lust after the road going 998r and SP2 in the flesh. My hero bikes then and still are today. What a time to be alive this was!

Two great champions, two great sportsmen. One of the best years of motorsports history. Total respect to the legends!

I remember watching this race! I've been a Honda guy since '67, when I got my Honda S90. Lol. Colin was one of my favorite riders. This is still the best motorcycle race I've seen. This was back when there were no electronics, and you didn't know if it was a Honda, Ducati, or Suzuki going to win. Golden age of Motorcycle racing, IMHO.

Colin used to take out full page ads in the motorcycle press to thank his fans and his team. At his own expense. One of sports nice guys. Awesome race - one of the all time greats

God I miss, just genuine "twist of the wrist" pure battle racing with less electronics man. Thank you guys back then for soooo many thrilling, adrenaline, NAIL BITING, intens racing! Also very little to no media of these guys everywhere all the time. So we enjoyed seeing them more when we did.👍🏾😎

What a fantastic era for the SKB. I was at Monza GP with some friends that year, like every year at the time. Troy seemed unbeatable, none of us could even imagine what Colin would be able to do. We loved both of them, and the final race in Imola was just out of this world. Goosebumps each time I watch it.

Serasa kembali ke masa itu saat mereka semua suka dgn euforia Valentino Rossi termasuk saya , tp saat itu saya masih melihat WSBK adalah race dgn persaingan yg cukup ketat dan sangat menyenangkan sekali yg sebelum juga troy corser dan carl Fogarty, sampai titik Edward dan Bayliss ke MotoGP sedikit aaya juga meninggal WSBK karena MotoGP semakin berwarna , dan saat ini 2-3 th belakang dominasi Jonathan rea pecah oleh toprak dan Bautista dan WSBK kembali berwarna

If I remember correctly the four cylinder bikes were limited to 750cc and the twins could go bigger. So Honda built the twin to be more competitive.
