With tens of thousands of subscribers I cannot begin to imagine how to please everyone. Drug store products have become more valuable in these COVID days. I order high end online and sometimes it’s the wrong color or doesn’t work on me. With drug store products I can see the color and returning it is simple. Also, when I’m out of low on high end I can fake it with a quick trip to the drug store. I’ve found it to be more valuable because it saves on my high priced cosmetics too. I am more a fan now of lesser price than ever, it saves me hassles. So! I appreciate this video more than any for awhile now. You look every bit as beautiful! Five stars ⭐️ to you . Thank you!!!

Me too Donna! I know I've mentioned this before, but, you're lucky that you can return products. In the UK once you've opened the product you're not allowed to return it if you don't like it. It's very frustrating. Affordable makeup is getting better and better and the high end market, which in all honesty has been rather complacent in the last 10 years, has had to start researching how they can once again be champions. Big brands can't just rely on having a well respected name and luxurious packaging to sell products anymore xxx

I’m 55 and I love love love metallics, especially indie multi chromes. I do need to be a bit more cautious with my placement, but thank you for saying this. I’ve watched makeup tutorials for mature skin and when they say “DO NOT wear shimmery, metallics” my heart sinks, and it leaves a bad taste 💜💜💜

A lovely look Gem. Still not convinced with too much sparkle on older eyes. I have had a dabble, but it can accentuate any crepeing. Starting to also stay well away from powder under my eyes. 50 this year and I am starting to show it!🤣

Sophie have you tried applying a thin layer of powder under your eyes using a lightly damp beauty sponge it’s a game changer.. Gently roll the powder on with a damp sponge and it melts into the skin and looks flawless .. I will be 53 yrs old this year and I love using the Flower Beauty Light Illusion powder under my eyes to set my concealer and it works so well .. I also apply a drop of squalane oil serum under my eyes before makeup it plumps up the skin and helps keep concealer creaseless ..give it a few minutes to penetrate the skin then apply makeup ..

@@Soapartisan875 Thanks Bianca, but I have tried all sorts of methods, including that one and I find now that I just have to use a minimum of concealer and one that dries down on it's own. It's easy to get carried away when you look like you have had several rounds in a boxing ring!😂 So I plump for less wrinkles and use less product, rather than completely covering dark circles. My eyes look good as long as I don't smile!😘 Soph.x

You can apply a shimmery eyeshadow, and then tamp down some of the shimmer, with a light layer of a matte eyeshadow. That way some of the sparkle peeks through, but it's a lot less crepey (I'm 57). Another tip: apply a primer like Mac paint pot (in light matte color), or a matte concealer, before eyeshadows. That way it fills in some of the crepey texture of your eyelids, before applying the shimmer.

@SophieGafney I will be 78 this year and still like some glow to my eyelids. My glitter pans in palettes are hardly touched and I've been known to cover them with tape if they shed beyond their pan. I use shadow sticks to give a beautiful glow to my lids that lasts all day. I must have 1/2 dozen different brands to suit my color scheme of the day. I personally think they are good for both day and evening.

Ok, so I need some nyx lip and eye liners - notes are being taken 😊. And the revlon highlighter is simply gorgeous 😍 CP have quite a few neutral palettes and the Taupe/Going Coconuts/Stone Fox are some of my "I love these" palettes. The look you created is so wearable and very, very pretty - it also looks like it would be easy to vamp it up for an evening look. I love the halo glow finishing powder I use it to set my face love the natural radiance it gives no glitter like some other powders the hydrating camo concealer was cakey for me 😞 but we're all different it creases terrible through the day if I try to set with bit more powder looks so dry sinks into fine lines no matter how little I use it seems to head straight for those fine lines lol

Nyx Control Freak Eyebrow Gel works fine for me for a clear eyebrow gel. I just wait for it to dry and then I go in with any eyebrow pencil including the one you showed today and it works fine. :)

Great look. I'm chuffed that you used some of my favourites, the banana powder, ELF loose powder (recent purchase, thanks for the recommendation, even looks good on my almost 69 yo undereyes 👍), Milani blush (wore that today). Will definitely try the camo concealer. I'd also recommend the ELF setting spray. I prefer the Mist and Set version, daughter likes the Matte. For the price you can't go wrong ( although I do like CT if I'm going out out) 😄

You might be applying too much, but if not, try setting the primer with a bit of setting powder before you apply your shadows xxx

Hi Gemma . I have very small thin lips so I only use a lip gloss as I find lipsticks only highlight the fact they are so thin . Would you suggest using only a gloss too ? Thanks x

I think you should do what you find looks best on you. As a thin lip girl myself, I like to slightly over-line with lip liner which I then apply all over the body of the lips as well. You had on your channel a few months ago a concealer that you said does not fall into the creases under your eyes. You rave about saying how wonderful it was. It was not high end . I am mad at myself for not writing it down. Do you remember by any chance what the name of it was? Every concealer I have ever used ends up falling into the creases (mine are not that bad) under my eyes and making me looking a lot older then I am.

Please don’t take offence to this but I far prefer this look to the one in the ultimate favourite’s to me it just looks more put together and seem less with better tones. Which kind of made me question some of my own high end purchases and favourite’s as for myself my looks are often a day or two apart, so I wonder now if my affordable makeup looks better on me as well. It’s was just my personal visual preference, I’m sure it wouldn’t be everyone’s 😊.
