Nice flight dude! I’ve taken this route before but the opposite though and it’s really short 20ish min flight 😉

What a smooth flight! Great job with the video.

Thank you. It was a nice flight. It felt kind of weird being at cruise at such a low altitude, albeit not quite at a full cruising speed.

Nice job on this trip report. You'll definitely continue to get better as you do this more. 73 miles? 6000ft above the ground? What a unique flight.
@AListFlierKris2 жыл бұрын
It was indeed. MSL altitude was just above 11,000’. We didn’t cruise at a normal speed but 350kts ground speed is is still pretty quick. Lol.

The pilot's observations: "And if you look out the window, you'll see beautiful DIA airport receding from view. And oh look, there's Colorado Springs"

@@4seeableTV Yep. That's not too far off honestly. I've been on a few of those short hops like that.

How long of a flight? I have a fear of flying and wanted to do something short and low to start getting over my fear
@Nunyobidne55 Жыл бұрын
Sure took his sweet time getting off that runway. The FMC must have had those engines set pretty low for takeoff
@ranmanwitplan7 ай бұрын
its probably because denver has such thin air, therefore less air for the engines to suck in, requiring more time to takeoff

I wonder if it could also be that fuel was cheaper in Denver, so they filled up with enough for this leg and the next leg onward from Colorado Springs. As long as they burn enough to be at or under max landing weight in Colorado Springs.

I'm about to visit KCOS In the next few weeks, how was the airport there? Great video as always!
@AListFlierKris2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It’s a small airport. Only 12 gates in use but it was a quaint little airport. The mount sun views are pretty nice. I spent sometime watching some C-17s and C-130s land cuz it’s a shared use field with Peterson Space Force base & A/DAGC facility.

Hey! Great video 🤩 Would it be ok to use small clips from this in a future project of ours please? With credit

Was there any turbulence?
@AListFlierKris Жыл бұрын
There wasn't really. Not even any real bumps or chop. It was a fairly cold morning and winds were rather calm in that part of the state.

For the fun of it. Also, that day started in Dallas.

I used to fly it all the time going from CA to Colorado Springs via Denver (then Stapleton) then take a shuttle for about 45 miles back to school. Most of the time did the Denver to Colorado Springs and back on Rocky Mountain Airways. Sometimes got a bit bumpy.
@donaldclifford5763 Жыл бұрын
That's 6000 feet above the ground, not above sea level, as that's the elevation of Colorado Springs.

I did this flight on UA in the 90s…on a BAe146. We had an aborted takeoff, had to hold in air for a groundstop, then aborted landing for spacing. Would’ve been faster to drive.
@AListFlierKris2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been in that boat many times where it would be quicker to drive by the time you add up driving to the airport, security, holds, delays, flight time, etc. Especially when I used to go between Dallas and OKC often. UA currently serves the DEN-COS route with the E175, E145 and CRJ200
