Man I love that front water feature with all the different things u have going. Can’t believe the ferns grew there. Everything in it is so beautiful. Glad u put some fish n there also. I love those, so colorful. I can’t EVER remember how to spell the name of the fish without googling it up 😆😆. Great questions Tom! I love u two guys, such a good team. You could add mosquito fish and Endlers (wild type guppies) to the streams and ponds. They eat mosquito larvae and algae. and they will breed live babies from the moms, and they are good feeder fish for the oscars and turtles. Add some water lettue, watersprite, salvinia, and red root floaters to the ponds. Maybe add some yellow american irises to the margins of the ponds along with cattails, reeds, and pickerel weed.

Kenan! please consider Toxotes Blythii (clouded archerfish) it's a TRUE freshwater species of archerfish native to Myanmar! most archers are brackish but this species occurs solely in freshwater! they are a beautiful silver with black splotching generally inhabit the upper columns of water and are specially adapted to shooting insects off of low hanging vegetation! they wound certainly be an interesting addition to your ecosystem!

If you can grow bromeliads yuo can grow pineapples. Root the tops you cut off the fruit and let them root in sand or volcanic rocks. They need good drainage. Once rooted after 6 months plant them in your front yard near the bromeliads. Pineapples are bromeliads, too.

You should look at keeping a mbu puffer fish. They grow too large for a tank and are just as curious as oscars you have the facilities to house a large one.

Awesome water features! I have a dream of doing something similar, but deeper streams cascading into a pond as a habitat for Long fin Eels (Tuna) and fresh water Crays (Koura) that we have in New Zealand. I'd also like to do a similar shallow stream for my Hermanns Tortoises and eventually another Pond with an Island for Eastern Water Dragons.

I would love to do that with my front yard!! DREAMS! Only it gets to -20 here during the winter and I'm not sure how that would work out for the animals. But I can always do research in the meantime.

I live in Melbourne Beach, Fl which is approx 1.5 hrs north of you. I have yellow belly sliders that are getting too large for my aquariums. Do you think that I would be able to keep them in my outdoor pond all year round? Or do you think it will get too cold in the winter?

After years of watching this channel I have to say: Tom needs to go to film school. Just take a course on how to film. He always leaves the focus fixed on a certain range where NOTHING is ever on focus and after years and years of getting bugged by it I must say these words. It might help him even learn more tricks than focusing, who knows?! We should always try to learn and improve.
